New Warhammer 40k Magic Cards: Price & Where To Buy

magic-the-gathering-warhammer-40kSure Warhammer 40k kits are expensive; here’s the price of the new Magic Commander cards and where to buy them right now.

We saw these previewed quite some time ago, and fairly recently, we saw a lot of the artwork. Now, possibly (and unfortunately), we’ve spotted some pricing for the cards.

Let’s check out the price of the new Warhammer 40k magic cards, spotted directly from Wizards, and where you can buy them now.

Price & Where To Get the New Warhammer 40k Magic Cards

40k Magic PriceYou can actually pre-order these here from Amazon right now; however, this isn’t some random person putting it up for a bunch of cash. This is direct from Wizards’ store and could mean that this is one of the cheapest prices you will find them online for.

These are on pre-order now but will be released on August 12th, just something to keep in mind.

40k Magic Price 2The commander deck bundle will still run you a pretty penny, but at least it’s not quite as expensive. As we said, it could be due to the GW licensing being so expensive that they felt they had no choice but to ramp up the price. Or, it could just be they think people will pay. However, even the individual boxes are up there in price.

If you just want the individual boxes, they seem to be higher than the base commander decks for Magic.

Compared to Other Cards

Magic PriceThe New Capenna Commander Decks (you also get 5) are bundled together for $178. So, with more decks and about $50 cheaper, the price does seem to be a tad higher for something targeted to Warhammer hobbyists and collectors.

There could be quite a few reasons for the price, but it could come down to how much Wizards has to pay for licensing to Games Workshop, or perhaps it’s just by what they think people will actually pay at this point. Either way it is hard to say as everything is pretty much expensive these days.

That being said, they did announce price increases that would be taking effect in August as well recently, but it is unclear whether the new Warhammer decks are affected by those or not.
