What would a film about the Horus Heresy actually look like- well, we at least have a good idea of who would be in the movie cast!
While most directors would take this in the most serious way, Wes Anderson would make, shall we say, a different type of movie. This cast idea and images were by Sepulchre of Heroes a little time ago, but with the new edition coming back we wanted to look back on this awesome idea!
Plus, who wouldn’t want to see Bill Murray as the Emperor? We sure would!
The Movie Cast of Horus Heresy if it was a film by Wes Anderson
First up, we’ve got Bill FREAKIN’ Murray as the Emperor. Imagine seeing his soft face talk to the Custodes after telling Lorgar (Jeff Goldblum) to get bent.
The fact that Fulgrim would be played by Tilda Swinton is hilarious enough. But seeing Sanguinius drop a nasally “wow” at every turning point in the movie is just icing on the cake.
Then you’ve got the crazy look Willem Dafoe brings to the table playing none other than Angron. Christoph Waltz’s accent coming through as Roboute Guilliman yelling at Edward Norton (The Hydra) for giving him a grand tour of the galaxy would also be priceless.
Finally, the scariest guy of them all playing the Warmaster, Bruce Willis, would have a field day with Bill (Big E), Owen (Sang), and Bob Balaban (Rogal Daggum’ Dorn) Just before he gets erased by Bill’s mind bullets. Imagine what kind of dialogue would go down in that scene.
This has been one of the more creative casts we’ve seen pulled together for a Horus Heresy film in quite a while. Keep in mind here that the joke here is that Wes Anderson seems to only work with a certain number of actors. Either way, we’d watch it!
Who would you like to see in a movie cast for a Horus Heresy Film, by Wes Anderson or otherwise?
