GW Previews the End of The Horus Heresy

gw-black-library-death-end-the-emperorThe Horus Heresy is almost over, as the end of the Siege of Terra books have been previewed by Black Library.

Dan Abnett talked about the last couple of books a while ago, but with  Siege of Terra: Echoes of Eternity releasing this weekend, it is closer than ever before!

Warhammer Community unveiled some details on the new book along with a pretty insane cover. We’ll also check out what Dan Abnett has to say about the series as well.

The Final Siege of Terra Books on the Way!

In Warhawk, Jaghatai Khan pulled off one last outlandish gambit to buy time for the beleaguered defenders by riding to face his brother Mortarion in deadly combat. And in Echoes of Eternity, Sanguinius will face off against the daemon general Ka’bandha and the Warmaster’s horde in one desperate last stand. All of this – every tale, no matter how small – has led to this finale: Siege of Terra: The End and the Death: Volume 1. Yes, Volume 1. You’ll just have to wait and see what this means for the final story!

We aren’t sure how many books they will break this into, but it’s awesome to see it going a little longer. Especially with this lining up with the new edition of Horus Heresy, more people than ever are into them.

Dan Abnett is the author behind this incredible final story. It contains some of the most crucial moments in the Horus Heresy – foundational to Warhammer 40,000 as we know it. This is simply unmissable.

There was a previous interview with Abnett, where he went a little more in-depth about what to expect.

Dan Abnett & the End of the Horus Heresy Books

Horus Heresy Siege of Terra Series

WarCom: Can you do the honours and give us a tiny hint at what might be to come?

Dan: The final book is called The End and the Death. Astute readers will know exactly where that phrase comes from (clue: he’s the one who walks beside you…). In some respects, you know what this book contains – a death (more than one, so get your hankies ready) and an ending. But I’ve thrown everything at it. It’s vast in scale, form, and ambition. It absolutely tells the story you expect and want. But it’s also packed with twists, surprises, jump-scares, call-backs to even the earliest novels, horror, huge action, and some revelations that may make your jaw drop. There are even a few jokes.

It’s heroic on a Warhammer scale, but also truly sad. It’s cosmic in scope, but also intensely personal. After 18 months of writing, with the amazing support of the editorial team and my fellow Heresy writers, it is – I hope – a fitting end to the series. It’s certainly the best ending I could deliver.

Be on the lookout, as they don’t say exactly when the book is coming out, but we expect it soon! Or, just sign up for Audible and give all of them a listen when they drop!
