Top 40k Homebrew Army List: KC Summer Slaughter

40k-homebrew-army-listsSpace Wolves can still perform as a new homebrew Warhammer 40k army list emerged at the KC Summer Slaughter!

9th Edition’s meta is again in flux, but some players take lists with units that nobody expected. Check out this awesome homebrew list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend. This shows us that sometimes it’s more about the general’s skill than what you play.

KC Summer Slaughter: Top 40k Homebrew Army List

Thanks to Best Coast Pairings, we can look back at the event as if we were all there ourselves.

If you wanted to see the names and factions of the overall winners, we’ve included that below.

However, we aren’t covering all those lists. Instead, we will look at just one of our favorites this week.

KC Summer Slaughter: Jeremy Capko – Space Wolves 4th Place

Space Wolves feature

Jeremy Capko

Jeremy’s list is a two detachment set up, with the first being a Patrol led by a Primaris Librarian for psychic support and Lugft Huron who has a re-roll aura for hits and a targetted re-roll each command phase, he also has great weapons and a deny death ability when he would die.

Troops keep it simple with 5 Infiltrators to fill the requirement, while Elites bring in 2 Wulfen Dreadnoughts who are great in melee and can take out some chaff thanks to their storm bolters.

Fast Attacks bring in Cyberwolves and Fenrisian Wolves for cheap mobile units, and the detachment closes out with three eliminators to snipe out some important targets from long range.

The second detachment is a Vanguard led by a Primaris Techamarine to help heal up any vehicles this detachment brings!

Elites bring in three Dreads running Plasma and Gatling for a mix of anti-armor and chaff clearing on a durable chassis. There are also a total of 15 Jump Pack Wolf Guards, forming a sort of mini-smash captains, with 12 running claws and shields, and three running shield and hammers.

Finally, closing out the list are two cyber wolves just to round out points and give two more cheap mobile models!
