orktober-uno-reverse-cardGames Workshop may have flipped the script and played a reverse UNO card on Orktober and Warhammer 40k.

We recently talked about how GW will never say Orktober again. and when you think about this for a second, they might never have to. Here’s why we think Games Workshop has played the ultimate reverse UNO card on Orktober.

Games Workshop Plays a Reverse UNO Card on Orktober

While just about every other company out ther has onboarded Orktober into their sales strategy every fall since 2018, Games Workshop seems to have been strangely silent about using the term…

GW never says Orktober

Remember the Speed Freeks box that started it all?

It’s not very often GW loses total control of its marketing. However, in this case, they basically gave all the other miniature manufacturers out there a gimmick to use every year.

When you look around the web in October, you see a ton of Ork-type products from other miniature companies out there!

But Games Workshop may have played the ultimate reverse UNO card on Orktober marketing and now uses that momentum to reveal their latest holiday Ork miniature!

And it seems to be working because this is the third year in a row they have done it!   Let’s check out the minis from the last three years and where you can score yours!

gorzag and nikkit

While not a Christmas model, these guys were a “Commemorative Model” back in 2020 as well. They were only available first to Warhammer stores from December 26th until January 3rd, followed by a release online through GW’s website.  Some local game stores received them as well. So, while they were a little later than this year’s, it seems like they started off the post Orktober minis!

Da Red Gobbo & Bounca: 2021

Da Red Gobbo and Bounca

Santa Claus he is not. Astride his loyal squig Bounca, da Red Gobbo dispenses presents to all the good little grots, and his model is packed with joyous details. Baubles and ornaments hang from the squig’s antlers and litter the ground underfoot, while the Gobbo’s trusty sidearm is slung in a holster across his back.

This miniature will only be available until 8am GMT on Friday 31st of December 2021.

This product is Made to Order and will be delivered in 180 working days.

Obviously, Orks are always a holiday favorite, and 2021 was no exception! Nothing is more jolly and in the Christmas spirit than a Red Gobbo and his candy-cane theme stick of dynamite, or at least so I’m told.

Ork Goff Rocker: 2022

Ork Goff Rocker

The model for this year actually came out earlier than the other two and continued the trend for three years in a row!

This festive Commemorative Series miniature has no specific rules or battlefield role in games of Warhammer 40,000, however, you are free to use the Goff Rocker miniature as a Boy, Nob, Flash Git, or any other appropriate role found within Codex: Orks.

This 10-piece plastic kit contains the components required to build one Goff Rocker miniature. It requires assembly and is supplied unpainted.

So, if this trend continues, expect Games Workshop to follow Orktober with a shiny new exclusive Ork miniature in 2023!

Do you like the Holiday Ork miniatures Games Workshop has done so far? Do you think they will continue the trend next year?
