Top 3 Warhammer 40k Army Lists: Goonhammer Open
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings, we can look back at the event as if we were all there ourselves. Check out the details here.
3rd Place: Matt Robertson – Harlequins
2nd Place: Jonathan Clarke – Sisters of Battle
1st Place: Matt Robertson – Chaos Space Marines
Matt’s Chaos went full-on Slaanesh with a battalion of Emperor’s Children led by a Daemon Prince, a Master of Possession, and a Dark Apostle. The Daemon Prince is a fantastic melee fighter and very mobile thanks to the wings upgrade, pretty much always needing to be killed. The Master of Possesions provides support via Psychic powers, and the Apostle provides support via prayers.
Troops bring in 20 Noise Marines with their fantastic Blastmaster Heavy weapons, along with 20 Cultists to serve as some cheap meat shields.
Elites then start off with 10 Terminators, which you just can’t go wrong with. Durable and deadly in melee and ranged combat, these are always great options.
Elites then finish out with 10 Possessed offering up some more great melee units to attempt to charge in and transform into meat blenders.
Finally, the list closes with a second detachment bringing only Abaddon, who is essentially the best CSM single model available, bringing everything you could ever want.
Melee domination, check; decent ranged weapons, check; fantastic support abilities, check; a stat line to rival Guilliman, check. He’s got it all!
