2 New Forge World Horus Heresy Legion Tank Commanders Revealed!

forge-world-logo-banner-games-workshop-warhammer-40k wal horTwo new Horus Heresy Legion Tank Commanders from Forge World will lead legions into battle from the top of their vehicles!

We’ve seen a lot of upgrades for different legions, but these are the first tank commanders we’ve seen for the new edition! Plus, they say there will be new rules for adding these to your tanks too, so they will be more than just decoration!

Both of the bits will be in resin from Forge World, so, unfortunately, they will not be plastic. Still, with smaller bits like this, having resin really isn’t a huge problem.

These tank commanders are designed to fit in the cupolas on tanks across the Horus Heresy range and add heroic panache to your armoured columns.

New rules in Campaigns of The Age of Darkness: The Siege of Cthonia will let you upgrade squadrons of Predators, Sicarans, Sicaran Punishers, and Kratos with these Decurions, who grant battle benefits.

This is a great-looking bit, and it should be easy to throw these on your tanks! However, they will do more than look good sitting on top of your models!

Any Legion can take the Decurion Locus and Decurion Defensors. Decurion Defensors do exactly what they say on the tin – these Space Marines have extensive hypno-indoctrination training in the weapons of the Imperium and can order their units to use the Advanced Reaction: Point Defence and return double the number of attacks with their defensive weapons.

If you need a little extra defense, throw one of these on top and get more shots! This could be super helpful if your arm is getting charged non-stop.

The two headline factions in The Siege of Cthonia each get their own unique Decurion miniatures – the Decurion Lanius for the Sons of Horus and the Decurion Sagittar for the Imperial Fists.

The latter is armed with an Illiastus assault cannon and an augury scanner, with which they can pick out vulnerable targets for destruction. When their vehicle makes a shooting attack, they can choose to fire one defensive or pintle weapon at a separate target, with the added benefit of Skyfire or Precision Shots (5+).

This is nice, as you get a little bit of split fire for free and even some precision shots.
