Check out this excellent homebrew list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend that shows that sometimes it’s more about the general’s skill than what you play.

The Roll For Damage 2023: Michael Wood – Necron 8th Place
Michael’s Necron list squeezed into fourth with an excellent performance led by 2 Hexmark Destroyers for ranged threats, a Lord, Orikan, an Overlord, and a Technomancer for a suite of relevant support abilities, and a Transcendent C’tan for a great point-efficient threat.
Troops bring in a single unit of iconic Necron Warriors, while transports bring a Ghost Ark to transport a few bodies. A Canoptek Reanimitaor helps with reanimation protocols, while two units of Cryptothralls tank the hits on the Warriors for as long as they can.
There are then 2 Doomsday Arks and a unit of two Heavy Destroyers for some somewhat dangerous ranged threats with shots down range!
Finally, the list closes out a single unit of Lychgaurd to babysit some of the characters and act as solid melee models to boot.
