More Drop Pods Descend Into Legions Imperialis!

The-Horus-Heresy-–-Legions-Imperialis-warhammer-40k-epic-scaleWe’ve seen one set of Drop Pods for the game, but more are on the way to ferry Dreadnoughts and shield generators into Legions Imperialis!

If you’ve patiently waited for Epic Warhammer 40k to return, it’s being rebranded in the Horus Heresy era as Legions Imperialis. While we’ve seen plenty of the miniatures in the starter box, it’s always nice to see what else will come to the game!

GW announced the game will be pushed back some, but this gives us more time to decide on the game by looking at the models! If you want to see some of the core rules, you can check those out here. Let’s jump into the new miniatures.

More Drop Pods Descend Into Legions Imperialis!

The new Drop Pod miniatures for Legions Imperialis come from Warhammer Community.

It’s not just Space Marines that ride these meteoric transport systems though; larger variants exist to launch hulking Dreadnoughts right to the action.

Dreadnought Drop Pods shuttle your Contemptors, Leviathans, and Deredeos right where you need them. They can carry one Dreadnought – snugly in the case of the bulky Leviathan – allowing them to deep strike ahead of your main force, and take advantage of the enemy’s weakest flank.

Why walk your Dreadnoughts up the battlefield when you can drop them where you want them? Considering these will be battles of such a giant scale, dropping in four Dreadnoughts at once would just feel cool and totally change the sway of the battle!

This kit also builds Legion Palisade Drop Pods. Rather than housing infantry or walkers, these contain powerful shield generators that project an energy forcefield, protecting accompanying drop pods and their contents from enemy fire.

They mention each box will contain 4 Drop Pods, and you can mix and match the models. It’s always nice to have options, and this kit should have plenty.
