Finally, we have some good news from GW, as there are no allocations (or caps) on new Space Marines releases this week!
There were a lot of warning signs for these releases getting heavily allocated to stores, and even a GW policy we’ve never seen before delayed their pre-orders. Luckily, it looks like all of that was just a little flash in the pan, as according to the game stores we polled, there are no allocations this week on the new Space Marines releases.
Some Good News From GW: No Space Marines Allocations
So, why were we so nervous about stores getting any of the releases? Well, here’s the rundown:
- For the first time in the internet era, stores were not allowed to lock in their pre-orders with GW before the Space Marines releases go live for pre-order on the GW webstore Saturday, Sept 30th, 2023, confusing both game store owners and customers alike.
- If you pre-order from the Games Workshop webstore, your order will arrive well AFTER the street date when you could have purchased it locally from a retailer in your community.
With those two significant factors in mind (and the past eight months of allocations), we were not very hopeful for stores to be able to actually get the new Space Marines. But it looks like GW has enough stock for a massive worldwide release.
With how many allocations we’ve seen, it’s nice to have some good news for stores, as Space Marines are far and above the most significant faction in 40k, so if you’ve been debating where to grab the new releases, perhaps get them from your local stores, as they will have plenty of boxes!
New 40k Space Marine Kits & Codex: Pre-Order Pricing & Links
Here are all the new Space Marines box sets and codex rules releases that are now on pre-order with pricing and links.
Some of these box sets are still holdovers from 9th Edition, so it’s nice to finally see them get their own separate kits. However, most new pre-orders are the new releases revealed at the 2023 Nova Open! Perhaps, best of all, a new codex is here, and it’s a giant 216-page book.
Don’t forget these will be on pre-order for two weeks, with a street date of October 14th, 2023.

Of course, if you’re one of the First Company Veterans, a regular codex just won’t do. That’s why there’s a luxury special edition featuring unique cover art, foil details, and fetching gilt page edges. This is strictly limited to just a few thousand copies.
Get this fast if you want it, as it will almost certainly sell out quickly.

This multipart plastic kit builds a Space Marine Captain and four Company Heroes to accompany him into battle. You can arm the Captain with a master-crafted bolter, plasma pistol, or neo-volkite pistol in one hand, and a power fist or power sword in the other. His retinue includes a Company Champion armed with a two-handed power sword, an Ancient bearing aloft an ornate banner, and two Company Veterans carrying master-crafted firearms – one with a bolt rifle, the other with a heavy bolter.
