More Games Workshop and Warhammer World events, along with the 40k and AoS US Open tournaments for 2024, are on the way!
Games Workshop, along with independent organizers, is hosting exciting events and tournaments at Warhammer World in Nottingham and various locations in the States, including the US Open, throughout 2024.
Games Workshop Events & US Open Warhammer 40k Tournaments
These tournaments will cater to most major Games Workshop games, including Kill Team, Warhammer 40k, and Age of Sigmar. It’s an excellent opportunity for hobbyists to participate and play their favorite games.
These events celebrate a community that shares a love for Warhammer. While they may take place in a convention center in the US or be hosted at Warhammer World itself in the UK, these events are all prestigious and highly anticipated, not ordinary tournaments. Here are some of the biggest Warhammer events you can attend this year!

Warhammer World Events
Play four awesome games of Blood Bowl Sevens in this sensational single-day tournament. Draft a team, bring your best and most brutal coaching skills, enter the painting competition, and enjoy a day rolling dice with like-minded enthusiasts!

Summer GW Events
Relieve the epic narrative of the Twin-Tailed Crusade at this weekend-long narrative event told through matched play games. You can either play as the forces aligned to Sigmar and help lay the foundations for a new fortress settlement, or take command of those who would repel these invaders in the name of the other deities of the Mortal Realms. This event takes place over the weekend of the 11th and 12th of May.
Earn a Golden Ticket at the Warhammer 40,000 Grand Tournament amid hot competition. This matched play event comprises six games across two days, and you’ll test your mettle against a competitive field of brilliant generals and compete for a podium place, while angling for those coveted painting and sportsmanship awards. This event takes place over the weekend of the 8th and 9th of June.
Dungeon Bowl: Rumble in the Dungeon kicks off three miniature sporting events at Warhammer World this summer. You’ll descend into the perilous dungeons beneath the Colleges of Magic to block, dodge, and score your way to victory across three games. You can also pick up awards for favourite opponent and best panted. This event takes place on the 14th of June.
Play four fast-and-furious games of Blood Bowl at this single-day Blitzing Sunday Sevens event. You know the deal by now – helmet on, brass knuckles in, and get blitzing in this streamlined version of Blood Bowl. You will also compete for the Favourite Player and Best Painted awards. This event takes place on the 16th of June.
Muster a small army and take part in a three-game Warhammer: The Horus Heresy tournament in a single day. This compact weekday event is the perfect way to spend time with like-minded fans of the Age of Darkness setting, whether you’re a brand-new player or a veteran of this galactic civil war. This event takes place on the 20th of June.
Prep your best Kill Team and deploy to the varied environs of Bheta-Decima in this narrative Spec Ops campaign, taking place across five games over two days. You can also take part in the Bugman’s Kill Team Quiz on Saturday night, and win awards for painting and being a good sport. This event takes place over the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of June.
Younger gamers can look forward to a specially crafted Warhammer 40,000 event that takes place across three games. Players will compete for the top spot, and have their armies judged in a best-painted competition. Parents and guardians also get a chance to enter a painting competition, and if they’ve not painted a miniature before, they can participate in the My First Model competition! This event takes place on the 26th of June.
The same format as Legion Recruits, Chamber Initiates is aimed at younger players in the fantastical setting of Warhammer Age of Sigmar. They’ll clash across three games to be crowned winner and compete to win painting awards, too. This event takes place on the 30th of June.
The Gnarlwood hungers for fresh meat – you can help sate its appetite at this event, where you’ll play four Matched Play games across custom battleplans over one day to determine who is the most skilful and ruthless Warcry player in the Ravening Ruin. Awards for favourite player and best painted are also up for grabs. This event takes place on the 30th of June.
Games Workshop Warhammer Open Tournament Series for 2024
Here is the latest on Games Workshop’s US Open tournament series for 2024.
Each stop on the US Open Series is a weekend packed full of Warhammer games in a tournament setting, and this year the roadshow will be heading to Dallas TX, Tacoma WA, Tampa FL, before reaching Atlanta GA, which will host the Grand Narrative and the finals of the World Championships of Warhammer, bringing together qualified players from amazing independent events around the world.
2024 US Open Warhammer Tournaments Series
Every event includes our travelling events store, featuring a massive range of Warhammer items – including Forge World resin expert kits – as well as event-exclusive swag such as Faction Objective Mats, and this year’s incredible Commemorative Series event miniatures.
Tickets go on sale on Saturday the 10th of February at 6pm GMT / 1pm EDT.

Qualifying World Championships of Warhammer Tournaments
Here is the latest on the qualifying events of 2024.
Games Workshop hasn’t announced all the qualifiers yet, but if you’re running a tournament this year, you can apply to have your event be a qualifier here! Last year, there were over 75 qualifying events, and they say this year will be even bigger!

If you want to preview the events, you can check out all the events here and score your tickets! Most of the GW games sell out very quickly, especially 40k, so if you want to play any of them, get them early and don’t wait! However, be sure to use the links above, as there could be some issues if you go to the main AdeptiCon site.
Bay Area Open 2024

The 2024 Bay Area Open will take place on May 25-26, 2024, at the Crowne Plaza SFO’s primary meeting space, situated at 1177 Airport Blvd, Burlingame, CA 94010—just outside the San Francisco airport. There is a free shuttle service to and from the airport for those who are flying in.
In 2024, the BAO will be affiliated with Kublacon, and each ticket for the BAO 2024 tournament will include a 4-day Kublacon Convention Badge (valued at $90) if you purchase your ticket by May 10th.
