More new 40k Tau releases are here; the Combat Patrol box has been spotted, hidden in plain sight inside their 10th Edition codex book!

We’ve seen every Combat Patrol in their respective codex ahead of the release, and all of them have been identical to what’s in the book. So, while this is still technically a rumor, you probably don’t need too much salt for this one.

New 40k Tau Combat Patrol Spotted, Hidden In Plain Sight!

Here is the latest on the new Warhammer 40k Tau Combat Patrol contents dubbed the Sudden Dawn Cadre.

At first glance, this box is a little better than some of the Combat Patrols released so far, but it’s not a giant box. Either way, this will most likely be the box Tau will be getting along with their upcoming full codex release. Here’s what’s looks to be inside:

1x Enforcer Commander
10x Breachers
10x Pathfinders
1x Devilfish

There are some useful units here, and it could be a decent starting point for new Tau players. Generally, these save you about 30%, so it should be a good pickup if you need everything inside. However, if you don’t need any of these models, then it’s probably not worth picking up.

One good thing about this Sudden Dawn Cadre box is that single characters don’t take up a lot of the value. Let’s see how it compares to the existing box.

Savings Versus Box Price: $93.50

The old box has a totally different feel, with Stealth Suits and a Ghostkeel. This has about $95 in value, so it was always a decent pickup for players, but we’ll have to see if this box ends up being better than the new one. Either way, if you really want what’s in the existing box, we would grab it sooner rather than later, as GW is bound to discontinue it soon.

Remember, this is just a rumor at this point, but based on past releases, it’s likely to be accurate. While not the most exciting box ever, it does have a decent mix of units inside.
