X-Wing fans, we are going to give you a run-down of the Top 5 upgrades cards in the X-Wing scene today! Study up on these and you may be the next X-Wing master!
TIE/ x7
Defenders are back baby! These hard hitting and super maneuverable ships have gotten some sweet upgrades from the recent Imperial Veterans release. The TIE/x7 upgrade let’s your Defenders get more dodgey. Keep it up a speed 3 and higher and you can assign a free evade token to your ship. Since the Defender is the only ship with a white 4 Koiogran turn, you can pretty much always have an evade token on your ship.
TIE/ D
Give your enemies the D with the TIE/ D title. This upgrade allows you to perform an attack with a secondary weapon that cost 3 or less, and then perform a primary weapon attack! Ion your opponent before you give him a follow up shot, or give him a stress token with your flechette cannon. The tractor beam has also been a fun upgrade that allows you to throw your opponenet into asteroids and reduce their agility to make them more vulnerable to your attacks.
Engine Upgrade
For ships that don’t already have boost, this upgrade is a saving grace. Equipped to a large based ship, this upgrade allows you to get up close and personal with those range 1 shots. And since their bases are so large, boost gets you around the board much faster. It can even help you get out of hairy situations by dodging firing arcs, all the while lining up the perfect shot for your ships.
Autothrusters
Never leave home without it! Autothrusters makes you a pain in the butt for turret ships to kill, and when the enemy takes those range 3 shot at you. Defense upgrades keep your ships alive to continue the fight, and Autothrusters kicks in whether you have modifiers or not. Change those blanks to evades my man!
Crackshot
This elite upgrade let’s you cancel an enemies evade result when you fire upon them. Those green evasion dice can either be super hot or cold, but help your enemy by cancelling 1 evade. 1 damage getting through could mean life or death for some of these smaller ships like TIE fighters and Interceptors. The new TIE Bomber pilot, Tomax Bren, loves this upgrade because normally you need to discard Crackshot after one use. Tomax Bren let’s you use the one time elite upgrades again and again.
that’s it for the Top X-Wing upgrades. What can you think of that would make the top list? New and exciting upgrades are around the corner. Stay current by learning what each one does!
