GW just announced 10 new codex books, but what about Forge World Imperial Armour? There are some things missing in the current books after all.
Games Workshop announced yesterday that they are trying to release ten new codex books by Christmas, and they had a little something to say about new Forge World Imperial Armour books.
Will they cover units from Forge World?
They won’t, but there will be other books on the way from Forge World that will cover those units, in a similar style to their previous Imperial Armour books.
We know there is at least one more Imperial Armor that’s waiting in the wings from Forge World for 40k, as we previewed it in our Tau VS. Everyone post over one year ago:
Did Fires of Cyraxus go missing because of GW’s plans for 40k 8th Edition invalidating all of the 7th Edition codex books, as well as the Imperial Armor books from Forge World (but not the Horus Heresy ones)? And in what format can we expect this new Imperial Armor book to be in when it is released finally?
…similar style to their previous Imperial Armour books.
Forge World Getting a FAQ?
One reader on Faeit 212 had a couple questions for the Forge World staff, and they finally got back to him with an answer. Now, this is just a rumor, we have not seen the email, so don’t forget to add salt.
Questions
I have found no rules/points for the following weapons systems on these
models:
Leviathan – rack of three hunter killer missiles, I currently have these
attached to my model
C. Mortis – Cyclone/Typhoon missile launcher rack, again I currently have
these attached to my model
Can you advise on whether this is an oversight?
Forgeworld Response
Thanks for contacting us and please accept our apologies for the delay in
replying.
Our studio have been made aware of these missing weapon options and this
will be addressed in a future FAQ/errata.
In the meantime please use the points costs and profiles for these weapons
from the Index books that are shown elsewhere.
So, according to this rumor, there will be an FAQ/errata in the future for Forge World products, and in the meantime you should use the missing weapon profiles from the index books that are shown elsewhere. Games Workshop did say “there will be other books on the way from Forge World that will cover those units, in a similar style to their previous Imperial Armour books.”.
Games Workshop said there will be less books required to play a game, but from the sounds of it, it doesn’t look like that’s the case. Between the indexes, codex books, and Forge World books, the book count is starting to add up, again…
