Darth Vader, Sith Lord, is a powerful character in Destiny. His massive melee damage sides and innate discard ability make him very dangerous. With Force Choke, Sith Holocron , and other Blue upgrades that make him even more powerful, what more could be done to make this menace even more deadly? By adding a personal Royal Guard!
At 9 points, the Royal Guard will fit perfectly with the Elite version of Darth Vader. What you get is a supportive melee character that can take the hits for Vader by using Guardian, and supporting with extra melee sides to his die. He is prevented from equipping Blue abilities, but with the Sith Holocron, there is a way around that. Also consider a Blue upgrade that is perfect for the Royal Guard.
Lure of Power is a Blue upgrade without the ability keyword that can be equipped to the Royal Guard. This will make all of his die supportive whatever Darth Vader rolls. The extra resource side also never is a bad thing. An interesting Event card that can round out this combo is Lightsaber Throw.
Since these characters feature a bevy of melee dice, there will be no shortage for the activation requirement for this card. Lightsaber Throw enables you to deal 2 damage to a character, simply by having a die showing melee damage. This is great for keeping your dice in your pool, but also dealing damage to your foes. Sinister!
