Looks like it will be a month of Gold starting next week! Games Workshop just previewed the new Adeptus Custodes releases that will be on the way soon.

Get ready for the new Custodes, and some heroes of the Imperium available for the very first time starting next week:

Games Workshop has confirmed next weeks new release lineup:

There are new miniatures and a lavish Limited Edition codex for you to get your hands on, as well as, for the first time, a range of Imperial heroes from the Triumvirate boxed sets available separately.

Custodes Trajann Valoris

Firstly, the new Adeptus Custodes models. We previewed Trajann Valoris last year on the Warhammer 40,000 Facebook page, but he’s well worth a closer look. Styled after the rest of the Custodian Guard, he’ll look right at home leading your collection, while details like his magnificent cloak and ornate axe mark him clearly as a leader.

Meanwhile, the Allarus Custodians combine the sleek silhouette of the Custodian Guard with the more brutal feel of Cataphractii Terminator armour; their appearance complimenting their baleful role on the battlefield as superb Character assassins. These guys are unbelievably durable and can teleport into the thick of fighting before cutting their foes down with a flurry of strikes. You’ll also be able to use the Allarus Custodians kit to build a Shield Captain to lead your forces, or a Vexillus Praetor, a flag-wielding commander that offers powerful bonuses to nearby units.

Of course, bringing a new army into Warhammer 40,000 is no small occurrence, and to help celebrate the release of the Adeptus Custodes, you’ll be able to commemorate your love for the Golden Legion with the magnificent Limited Edition codex. Within the eagle-marked slipcase, you’ll find two volumes. The first contains the codex, bound in dark red cloth with gilt-edged pages, while the second containing an exclusive double-sided poster, datasheet cards with the rules for your units, and six objective markers styled after the shoulder pads of the Golden Legion. With only 900 copies available, you’ll want to get yours right away before they run out…

Games Workshop will be going over the new release starting on Monday January 15th! Looks like this may be a two week release as we haven’t seen anything on the Jetbikes. or Custodes with Paragon blades that were on display at New Year’s Open Day yet.

Be sure to check back for all the great coverage you have been waiting on starting then.

Previous Custodes Coverage from Open Day

Good and bad guy players in the Grim Dark both have something to look forward to soon as both the Custodes and Thousand Sons look to be getting codex books next:

Looks like the Custodes are getting a mix of new units as well. From left to right, clockwise: Plastic Terminators, Jetbikes, Possible Multi-part Contemptor. or is it a conversion that uses the Vexilla bits?

New weapon options for the Custodes, hopefully coming in plastic. These look to feature the Paragon Blade previously only available on the Exclusive Ixion Hale model.

A close look at the new Jetbikes, and the new Terminators that also appear to have Paragon Blade options.

Horus Heresy Aficionados Battle Bunnies were also on the scene Saturday reporting from the Warhammer World New Year’s Open Day and snapped a ton of great close-ups of the new Custodes kits:

New Jetbikes on the way sporting underslung missiles or bolters, and possibly a robed sergeant model as well.

This is not the new Custode Character model we saw back in December, but perhaps a sergeant model for a new kit that contains the Paragon Blade weapon options you see on the two models directly behind him.

More shots of the new  Plastic Terminators with Paragon Blades as well.

Lore states that for ten thousand years and more, the Custodians have stood watch over their lord and master, serving as the Emperor’s personal guardians and praetorian bodyguard.

Games Workshop hit everyone with their official preview including this awesome teaser video:

What are your thoughts? Are you going to collect the new Custodians?
