Rending claws and tank shells were ready to punch through some Imperial Power armor at the Warzone GT. Take a look at this nasty force.
East Coast hobby maniacs Horton and Twitchell ran Warzone Atomic Empire. At over 50 players the event attracted some stunning armies that we captured for you.
Rending the Competition
Genestealers are always scary to anything that has a decent armor save and you better believe people brought Leviathans and Sicarans to the GT. (A.K.A sweet rending claw targets.)
Genestealers and Papa Broodlord sprinted up the board and dealt with any armor that needed to go while the armor column covered them with volley fire.
The Best of Both Factions
Imperial Guard are absolutely devastating in 8th edition. How do you make them even more potent? Sprinkle in some Genestealers of course. It’s like taking two of the top standalone armies in 8th edition. The best of Tyranids and Imperial Guard rolled into one.
What’s a Cult without a Cult leader? These blue Genestealers rolled with the Broodlord as part of his bodyguard troupe with unquestioned loyalty.
The blue paint job on the Broodlord just adds a nice “otherworldly” look to him and his buddies.
Genestealer Cult end up fighting with whatever they can get their Xenos hands on. Mining trucks are surprisingly good for their points and the player capitalized on it by bringing two.
To add a solid “backbone” to the army, a Stormhammer was thrown in for good measure. You can tell the Cult got their hands on it a while ago from the sick decal on the main turret.
Topping everything off, the display board looks like it could be part of a mining operation on a fiery planet. We know how GSC like to pop up around mining areas. Great job!
Warzone Atomic Empire event may be over but the Warzone Atlanta is coming up soon! Get cracking on your army to have it in tip-top shape for Warzone’s next event. Slap some highlight on those edges and shade those bases. At the end of the day, Warhammer is a hobby as much as it is a game on the tabletop.
Warzone Atlanta will be held on November 9-11th so grab your ticket and tidy up your army. We hope to see you there.
