It looks like yet another unit for the Ossiarch Bonereapers may have been hidden in plain sight in the latest preview from GW.
A mysterious figure was spotted in Warhammer Community’s Ossiarch Bonereaper rules preview. If you haven’t seen the rules already, be sure to go over them for yourself.
Spoilers: Bonereapers are looking good. As for the mystery model, here’s what was spotted:
New Mystery Bonereapers Unit Spotted
Standing on a huge skull, this unit is not like anything we’ve seen so far in all the previews. It does have some similarities to the Necromancer model but isn’t an exact match by any means.
Both the Necromancer and mystery unit looks to be dealing with reanimation and both have a tattered lower robe. The main difference is that the mystery unit has a completely different top half, is resurrecting a Skeleton, not a soul, and is on an elevated scenic base.
It could be an early look at an event-exclusive model. However, it might also be a Hekatos.
If you haven’t already heard, the Ossiarch Bonereapers are getting Lieutenant-equivalent units that will probably be cheap points-wise. And these will help increase the aura range from your Heroes.
GW First Mentions The Hekatos
Warhammer Community touched on the Hekatos here:
Hekatos first mentioned by GW in Deathless Warriors rule
Wondering just what the heck a Hekatos is? The Hekatos are the lieutenants of the Ossiarch Bonereapers, and capable commanders in their own right.
With another model spotted for the faction, do you think we’re looking at the Hekatos? Will they take up a Hero slot or be included with each unit entry?
