Here’s our unboxing and build of the Wargames Atlantic Grognards, which makes great alternatives to GW Imperial Guard regiment miniatures!
Wargames Atlantic is known for its affordable and high-quality models (you may remember their Raumjagers we reviewed recently too). This time we have a squad of Sci-fi Grognards! Let’s see what Rob’s first impressions are as he breaks it down!
Wargames Atlantic Grognard Unboxing: IG Alternatives
After he pulls out the sprues we can see that these aren’t so different from a normal GW kit. They are filled to the brim with wargear and head options to let you make it your special squad just the way you want it.
The first assembled Grognard is a standard soldier with a long rifle and a bayonet ready to go. The detail on these is definitely on par with GW.
The second model Rob kitted out with a hat and what appears to be a flamethrower. Definitely not someone you’d want to mess with.
The third model has a noticeably larger hat and a heavy weapon. You could use the heavy weapons as plasma if you wanted and maybe even use the larger hat to distinguish the squad leader.
The last model is holding a chainsword and has another new hat. This hat is a mix of the previous two and now has a feather on top!
Last up we have the size comparison. They almost match up 1 to 1 with a DKoK guardsmen, meaning they might just be the right alternative for you if you have been looking for some!
Word on the street is they have heavy weapons squads in the works too!
