Alternatives to GW & Forge World: Victoria Miniatures Mortars

victoriamortarsthumbThese are great alternatives to GW and Forge World mortars- Rob unboxes, and builds the Victoria Miniatures artillery kits and gives you his thoughts!

Victoria Miniatures has been making great alternative models for a while now, but this time, they are exploring some mortar options! Rob is taking a look at this and will give us all his thoughts. Let’s see what his impressions are!

Alternatives to GW & Forge World: Victoria Miniatures Mortars

mortar laid outWith the first sprue laid out, we can clearly see the standard setup with resin sprues. Nothing too much to handle if you’ve been doing this a while now!

mortar 1With the first Heavy Mortar assembled we can really see all the detail. Each and every rivet can be clearly seen, including all of the other small details too. The gun can also move up and down if you don’t glue it in, so you can adjust the aim! There were some optional crewmen but Rob didn’t get any of them this time around.

mortar 2The second piece is a little smaller and resembles more of a mortar versus a field gun. It looks a little different, but the scale is still right, and paired with the other gun today it’ll be right at home.

mortart compareNot to mention both of these are conveniently sized to be good options for Forge World alternatives at a fraction of the cost. All while keeping that same level of detail and quality you might otherwise miss.
