Blast weapons have been reworked in 9th Edition 40k, and now we not only know which ones have the keyword, but also what other surprises are coming.
Spotted on Reddit all the Blast weapons in 9th Edition have been revealed. Largely, there’s no surprise as to which weapons are considered “Blast” weapons. However, there are also a few interesting wargear options that also made that list.
Blast Weapons Datasheet Surprises for 9th Edition 40k
We’ve already seen earlier details of just how Blast weapons would work in 9th Edition. They get max shots against “horde” units and can’t be used to shoot at units it’s engaged with.
Blast Weapons Datasheet Spotted for 9th Edition
There are a lot of weapons on this list so whatever faction you play, be sure to dig into this sheet for yourself.
Pulling out some of the more interesting weapons that are “Blast” keyworded Mortars are about to be hot in the meta. You would normally think that Blast weapons are mainly low-shot anti-armor rounds. However, Mortars are cheap and spammable. It looks like Imperial Guard Weapons Teams are about to get max shots in just about every game. They could very well be the Imperium’s go-to Screen clearer getting 18 shots per team if you shoot at the right targets.
One weapon that we least expected to see on the Blast weapon list was the Eliminator’s Bolt Sniper. It’s normally a Heavy 1 profile, but using the anti-infantry Hyperfrag round which normally gets D3 shots, if you shoot at what the round is intended for, a full-strength squad of Eliminators will be getting 9 S5 shots.
Are you surprised to see the Eliminator’s weapon counted as a Blast profile? What are some other interesting Blast weapons that made the list for your faction?
