New 40k Dark Angels Unit Hidden in Plain Sight

kharn azrael chaos space marine heroes series 1 2 3With the release of the giant 40k FAQ, we saw a new Dark Angels unit hidden in plain sight. Check out all the details!

We know their new codex is coming soon, but today we got some insight into one of the new units that will be accompanied by the codex. They were supposed to come out this month, so obviously they already have all the datasheets for everything coming out with the new release.

This one is coming directly from the FAQ (which you can download all of them here) and not a rumor mill, so it’s pretty hard to deny!

deathwing walWhile we don’t know whether the Dark Angels or the Dark Eldar will be getting the first codex after Death Guard, either way, they are both coming soon. Let’s look at the new unit spotted!

Dark Angels DatasheetsThis is the image taken from their 9th edition index, you can see all the Deathwing stuff pretty clearly, it’s almost like it’s outlined in red or something… Now look at the FAQ and you should notice a new unit in there.

Dark Angels DatasheetsIt looks like the Deathwing Strikemaster is going to be a new addition to the army. We don’t know much about him other than his points. But if he’s Deathwing, well that means he’s a Terminator. We would love to see a new mini for him! But he could always just be based on a normal Termie, we’ll just have to wait and see on that one!

But for the points, it seems like he will be a Lieutenant style character and not anything too crazy. But who knows? He could be super OP and be the character to have once the codex drops.

Plus there is something called the Rites of Initiation that looks to be similar to the Space Marines Chapter Command that allows you to upgrade models to super character status

Rites of Initiation

These are just two of the many things in the giant FAQ that are potential spoilers, if you want to see all of it, check it out here.

This is fun to speculate on, but hopefully, we’ll know more soon, and the codex will be here before long (but preferably after the DE codex…). If he does get a new mini, let’s hope it’s a great one!

What do you think his abilities will be like? For the points what are you anticipating?
