Another Xenos army rose the top of the leaderboards at the 2021 Free State GT and managed a solid 5-0 finish!
The 2021 Free State GT is over and now we’re able to look at which lists managed to secure a place at the top! Check out what this winner brought in their army.
Xenos Has The Best 40k Army List This Week (again)!
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves.
1st Place: Dan Sammons- Orks
The first patrol is Deathskulls led by a Warboss on Warbike providing a great dueling character who can also help pass morale tests when needed. 10 Gretchin fill the troop slot with the cheapest bodies available.
10 Kommandos provides some cheap Elite bodies that can essentially deep strike in. 3 Scrapjets provide some aerial superiority and some last-ditch mortal wounds when it’s time for them to die. 2 Deff Dreads provide a decent amount of anti-armor while the Kannonwagon helps in the same department but with some extra smalls arms fire for chaff as well if needed.
2 Burna-bommers serve as the Scrapjet’s big brother and in turn have better weapons, more rules, and a bigger explosion on death, overall pumping out more mortals in general. Lastly, for the first Patrol, a single Trukk offers some small protection for the Gretchin or Kommandos.

The second patrol is Goffs and is led by Da Big Ork himself Ghazghkull, who provides possibly the best duelist at his cost range along with great buffs to other models like rerolls in melee. 10 more Gretchin serve as the cheap troop option with more bodies.
A Painboy can help heal nearby units each turn and gives units within 3″ a 6+ FNP. 5 Smasha Gun Mek Gunz provide even more anti-armor shots while also having blast, meaning it’s great against medium-sized elite squads. Finally, a second Trukk provides some more transport options with a few extra shots for very cheap.
