Magic the Gathering is going full wacky draft packs with Unfinity, and here are all the release details you need to know!
Following the announcement from Wizards of the Coast, we now know all about the dates for the new draft set, Unfinity. You can check the listings here, but we will also cover all the info you need to know right here!
Magic The Gatherings New Unfinity Set Product Details
Unfinity aims to continue to popular old Un-sets, which take a fun and wacky spin to Magic the Gathering in a draft format with some crazy art and rules! This time around some of the cards will be eternal formats legal, meaning any cards without an acorn in the bottom center can be played like normal cards, just not in modern or standard.
Here’s an example, in the bottom center, where the security sticker is, there is a small acorn shape. That means this card is not eternal formats legal and instead is entirely made with the “for fun” attitude of un-sets in mind. That being said, Un-sets used to be silver-bordered to make it clear they weren’t for tournament play.
That attitude leaked into some of the more “for fun” formats like Commander. That being said, Wizards of the Coast hopes this change will make some of these cards, even acorn cards, more acceptable to play in other games like Commander. IF your playgroup is ok with it!
Without further-a-do, let’s check out those product details and what they mean!
Unfinity Draft Boosters/ Booster Box
Contents:
36 Unfinity Draft Boosters + 1 box topper
14 Magic cards + 1 additional play object in every Draft Booster
Full of out-of-this-world mechanics and infinite laughs
Experience the most illustrious galactotainment in the Multiverse at Myra the Magnificent’s Intergalactic Astrotorium of Fun
Just draft, add lands, and play
As with most sets, there is a standard Booster Box filled with boost packs. These are primarily meant to be drafted as a game in its self, but there’s nothing stopping anyone from just buying a box to collect cards either.
Unfinity Draft Multipack
Contents:
3 Unfinity MTG Draft Boosters
14 Magic cards + 1 additional play object in every Draft Booster
Full of out-of-this-world mechanics and infinite laughs
Experience the most illustrious galactotainment in the Multiverse at Myra the Magnificent’s Intergalactic Astrotorium of Fun
Just draft, add lands, and play
Similar to the boosters, this is actually just a pack of 3 booster packs in a small bundle! These are nice because they make it easier for large retailers like Walmart or Target to sell them on endcaps. However, if you go to your LGS you are likely not going to see these 3-pack bundles and instead just see loose single boosters for sale.
15 foil Magic cards + 1 foil token in each booster
3–5 Galaxy Foils + 10–12 Traditional Foils in every pack
The very first Un-set Collector Boosters—get direct access to the coolest Unfinity cards
Step right up and experience the Multiverse’s ultimate intergalactic amusement park
If you are feeling a little more Premium then you can also check out collector’s boosters! You can either get a box of 12 boosters like the contents listed above, or just a single booster! Granted these are quite a bit more expensive than the non-collector counterparts, but they often come with a ton of foils and usually some exclusive art as well to help juice up the deal!
If you are just interested in the collection or maybe you love the art for a specific card, this is the way to go! Otherwise, you could always just buy singles on the secondary market as well if it’s just a few cards you want.
There’s always some joy in cracking packs! Doesn’t hurt to do some cardboard gambling every now and then.
