Top Homebrew 40k Army List: Glass City GT

40k-homebrew-army-listsAnother off-meta Warhammer 9th Edition 40k army list emerged in the Glass City GT, check this one out!

9th Edition’s meta is again in flux, but some players are taking lists with units that nobody was expecting. Check out this awesome homebrew list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend. This just goes to show us that sometimes it’s more about the general’s skill than what you play.

Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves.

If you wanted to see the names and factions of the overall winners, we’ve included that below.

However, we aren’t covering all those lists, instead, we will be looking at just one of our favorites this week. Yeah we know custodes are changing… but why no take one look back before they do?

12th Place: Anthony Hilla – Adeptus Custodes

Anthony Hilla 1

Anthony brings in a simple one-detachment Custodes list, but it’s even more special because pretty soon we may no longer see this style of list at all! Depending on how the Codex shifts the meta, the custodes might completely switch up as a faction.

The battalion is led by Trajann and a Captain on Jetbike. Trajann was fantastic because of hit and wound re-roll to ALL custodes models. Similarly, the Captain on Jetbike provided hit re-rolls to all custodes and on his own is a truck full of firepower and mobility.

Troops bring in a 3 man squad of Custodians who are durable and hit decently hard enough in both range and melee, making for great units to accompany Trajann. Additionally, there are a total of 6 Sagittarum Custodians, who behave similarly but have slightly better weapons in exchange for being slightly less durable.

Anthony Hilla 2Fast Attacks bring in much-needed mobility with 6 Venatari Custodians, who come with jump packs and great durability to help them pick off enemy squads and get away alive.

Finally, the bulk of the list is 3 Telemon Heavy Dreadnoughts, which won’t be changed at all in the update due to them being Forgeworld units! They are great models due to their durability and mobility. They can also do very well in ranged and melee situations thanks to the Caestus and Culverins, which help to take out 2 wound models like space marines with ease!
