Squad Marks Battle Ready Terrain: Unboxing & Build

Battle Ready Terrain rIf you want terrain that can be set up in seconds and packed down easily, the Squad Marks Battle Ready Terrain Kickstarter might be perfect!

This is a really cool take on the pop-up terrain idea because everything is done with magnets. So all you have to do is just push them together, and bam, the magnets take care of the rest! The project has a lot of great pieces and if you need to travel with your terrain, or just don’t have much space to store it, this is awesome. If you want to support the project, you can by clicking right here!

Today Rob unboxes the sample set they sent him, sees how it goes together, how it looks on the table, and of course the size. That way you can decide if this is worth your hard-earned hobby dollars!

Just one thing to note, they were originally going to do this with velcro, and that’s what they sent Rob, but the final project will be done all with magnets which is just way better.

Magnet Prototype Preview:

Squad Marks Battle Ready Terrain: Unboxing & Build

Battle Ready Terrain 2You literally get an entire table’s worth of terrain in a box this size! If you want to support the project, you can here!

Unboxing

Battle Ready Terrain 3As we said, they originally were going for velcro, but have now switched to magnets, so just imagine this terrain without the velcro! When you open this up, everything comes in nice little baggies and you get ruins, trees, objective markers, and crates.

Battle Ready Terrain 4The nice thing is the trees fold out flat for easy carrying and then just pop together.

Battle Ready Terrain 5Maybe the best part is you also get all the objective markers, so you literally just need this one box and all of your terrain and objective markers are good to go.

Battle Ready Terrain 6Lastly, you get these area terrain markers, so really, everything you need, you get in this one small box.

Close-Ups

Battle Ready Terrain 7Obviously, these are prototypes so they won’t be perfect quite yet. Then, you just throw some of the trees on the area terrain, and bam, you’re ready to go.

Battle Ready Terrain 8The crates are Rob’s favorite because they can be used for so many types of terrain and they even come with a neoprene mat on the bottom so they don’t move much on the tabletop. They hold together really well and are just cool pieces.

Battle Ready Terrain 9

Battle Ready Terrain 10You can either put two of the ruins together to make a big one or just go with one set-up and have a bunch of smaller ruins on the table. This actually works with the new CA 2022 missions, so this will get you everything you need. The doors and window parts are also perforated so you can punch them out if you want.

How it Looks on the Table

Magnetic TerrainFor the price, this is a great deal as you can get everything in one buy and it is so easy to store.

Magnetic TerrainIt works perfectly for the new missions, they even have some leftover if you don’t need it all.

Magnetic TerrainThe crates can also be double stacked because you have some extra.

Magnetic TerrainOverall the aesthetic is pretty spot on and with the mats on the bottom, they are hard to move around if you bump them. It actually also holds the weight really well of models, even if you press down on them.

Magnetic TerrainFor the price, this is hard to beat and with how easy it is to store and take somewhere, it really gains a ton of value. Especially with them moving everything to magnets.
