New Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Gameplay Trailer is Wild!

darktide featureThe new Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Gameplay Trailer shows off some insane shooting, melee, and psychic mechanics!

This game has been hyped up for a long time now (basically two years) and the new trailer is making it look awesome! Plus, we have a solid release date (but it could obviously change), so if you’ve been waiting on the game, this new trailer is sure to get you hyped!

We saw the trailer over on the Darktide Twitter, but then the full YouTube video from Gamespot, and as we said, the combat looks intense! There seems to be a good balance between melee and shooting, and much like 40k, you shoot until the enemy rushes in.

There also was a quick little segment with psychic powers, so that’s awesome to see. Let’s start with one of the first gameplay trailers we saw then get into the new stuff and see how much the gameplay improved!

Fat Shark Reveals New 40k Darktide Gameplay Trailer

darktide playable classesIf you played Vermintide you know that there were 5 unique characters each with very distinct playstyles and personalities. With these first four we see, it looks like it may be more of the same in that aspect!

chaos cultThe main targets appear to be some pox walkers, minor daemons, and cultists/traitor guard. The past games had tons of support and added entire factions worth of enemies through updates and DLC so don’t be surprised if the list grows exponentially.

darktide explosionWith the jump to 40k, you’ll get the iconic Lasguns, but also more shooting all around and that means the potential for explosions and grenades too!

darktide meleeOf course, that doesn’t mean there won’t be melee, there will come a time when you run out of ammo against the hordes and have to switch to melee. Vermintide has visceral melee and it was amazing, this game will be no different, just now you have Thunder Hammers and Chainswords!

New Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Gameplay Trailer is Wild!

darktideThe melee side of the game looks intense and you can bash opponents to get them to lower their shields, and obviously, there are some giant enemies to face. The Ogryn uses his knife quite well! However, there are plenty of other weapons.

darktide 2Who wouldn’t want the chainsword? Plus there seem to be some fairly decent blocking mechanics in the game. Either way, the combat looks fast and intense.

darktide 3The shooting aspect also looks decent and as we said, you have to either set up in a good spot for long-range or get ready for melee as the enemies rush you. Sort of like a game of 40k!

darktide 4You can even drop servo-skull bombs to blow stuff up!

darktide 5Last but not least, they showed off a psychic power and it’s somewhat hard to see in the screengrab, but it looks like you pick a piece of land and all enemies in that get smashed! It’s actually a cool mechanic and we’re excited to see how it turns out.

Are you excited about the game? Will you be picking it up?
