One Simple Thing GW Can Do To Update Rules Better

chapter-approved-rules-points-updates-changesIt really doesn’t seem that hard, but there is one little thing Games Workshop can do to make points changes and rules updates easier on us.

This is something that has baffled people for a while now, they never highlight point changes in things like the Munitorum Field Manual. They do it for FAQs, and even AoS points changes, so it’s not like they don’t have the capability.

The game is already hard to track with so many constant changes to points and FAQs. We would be grateful for any extra thing they could do to help make it easier!

One Thing GW Can Do To Make Rules Updates, and Points Changes Easier on Players!

Orks Points Changes 2

This is just the most recent field manual, and while there are changes and things added back in, guess what? Nothing is highlighted.

This makes following the points just so much harder, especially for newer players. While you may know your points and book like the back of your hand, not everyone does.

Especially since the 40k app doesn’t work very well, you think they could at least highlight these for us. If you’re a new player, how are you really supposed to keep track of everything (not to mention they barely even mention the changes on WC)?

Again, they already highlight other changes, so why not here?

New Orks FAQWould you look at that? FAQs highlight the newest changes, so it looks like they can make text colored (mind blown, we know). Do they care that little about players, just don’t care, or somehow don’t know what’s changing themselves?

AoS ChangesThis isn’t the best solution either, but it’s clearer for AoS players than for 40k ones. We’d take this kind of breakdown than the current just nothing!

While a model is within 1″ of an Area Terrain feature with this trait (e.g. Ruins) and the shortest line between it and an enemy model crosses over or through this terrain feature, then while those models are within 2″ horizontally and 5″ vertically of each other, they are within Engagement Range of each other.

Another thing GW can do that is super simple in their rules updates is letting players know when something is REMOVED from the FAQ altogether. A simple line, though, would be great just to give folks the heads up.

Nothing is more frustrating than opening up a fresh FAQ document just to see nothing in magenta or blue and being puzzled as to what, if any, changes there actually were.

Please, GW, start highlighting points changes in magenta (or any color, really) when they drop, and strikethrough things that have been removed!

Do you wish Games Workshop highlighted the rules changes in points and FAQs that are removed?
