RUMORS: How Lion El’Jonson Will Be Returning to Warhammer 40k

40k-primarch-newThis time, Arks of Omen is bringing a lot of lore and primarch rumors about Lion El’Jonson returning to Warhammer 40k!

We’ve been seeing rumors for a long time (years at this point) about the return of Lion, and now, GW might have just dropped even more hints at his return! Even though these rumors have been floating around for a long time, we still don’t have a model for 40k. However, GW just keeps hinting at it, and it would make sense!

Arks of Omen also has rumors for Fulgrim, which you can check out here, and maybe 2023-2024 will be the year of returning Primarchs!

Let’s get into the new rumors, but we’ll also look back at some of the recent ones as well.

RUMORS: Lion El’Jonson Returning Soon to Warhammer 40k

These screenshots come from Valrak, and it looks like Arks of Omen Book 1 might just confirm new models for 40k- primarch or otherwise!

Magnus and the Lion

Magnus and the Lion 2Unfortunately, the picture quality isn’t the best, but you can still more or less read it. The first few tips towards Dark Angels are the talk of digging (maybe towards the Lion’s chamber) and a vast fortress. It sure sounds like the Rock to us.

So, we know Angron is getting his own Arks of Omen book, and if you ask us, he sure seems like a crimson giant (but maybe they mean Magnus too). It would be interesting to see him assaulting the Rock, and as they destroy more and more of the Rock, they get closer and closer to Lion. However, when they get there, there is nothing, as he has risen!

Spooky.

Lastly, and possibly the biggest hint, an ancient knight kneels upon his field of victory. Who is more ancient of a knight than Lion? Not many! Even though he rises and wins the day, it looks like the Rock will be nearly destroyed, at least from the sounds of this.

Primaris Chapter Master Azrael Warhammer 40k Miniature 2

However, this could also be Azrael, as he is also an ancient knight and getting a new model as well. Plus, that line of text is before the inner circle one with nothing there. Maybe, Angron gets stopped by Azrael, and then they go to find Lion, and he’s gone.

Maybe Magnus used Angron’s assault as a ruse to get him? Maybe he raised, and we’ll see him leading an army soon?

It’s not the most obvious of lore, but it really feels like something pointing toward the Lion returning. Now, let’s look at some older rumors.

RUMORS: Lion El’Jonson in 40k

The first bit of speculation came from this codex excerpt in the Dark Angels book back in 8th Edition, which speaks about the Lion being fully healed.

Lion Return

The last paragraph states, “His wounds long healed, he awaits a time when he is most needed,” speaking about Lion El’ Johnson. It goes on to say that he’s waiting for the call when he will need to lead his sons to defend the Imperium of Mankind, which leaves room for speculation on whether he will be returning here soon.

This is about as direct as GW gets when it comes to putting new models into the game. This is from a while ago, but there are also new rumors! Be sure to check out the video below for more insight.

Do you think we’ll finally see his return for Warhammer 40k?
