Astra Militarum Won Adepticon Champs 2023: Top 3 40k Army Lists
We can look back at the event thanks to Best Coast Pairings as if we were all there ourselves.
3rd Place: Nicholas Rose – Genestealer Cult
2nd Place: Arne Zerndt – Leagues of Votann
1st Place: Nassim Fouchane – Astra Militarum
Nassim’s winning army was a Guard list focused on using the best units for the faction as much as possible. The HQ includes a Death Korps Marshal and a Cadian Command squad serving as cheap bodies with good weapons and extra Order sources.
There was also a Tank Commander as a ranged threat with great weapons and Solar Leontus as a fantastic support piece and model overall for the list.
Troops go all-in on Cadian Shock troops, which seems to be the standard route, totaling 30 bodies.
Elites also keep it standard with 20 Kasrkin, a set of slightly better bodies with great weapon options.
Fast attacks bring in six Armoured Sentinels and three Scouts, which are all mobile models with great plasma shots to chip at armored or multi-wound targets.
Heavy Support has nine Mortars for chip wounds from out of the line of sight and two Lemus Russ to pair up with the tank commander as armor-ranged threats.
Then the list wraps up on a Chimera to round out to 2k points and bring in some excellent chaff-clearing firepower.
