How To Paint Stormtroopers Fast With Speedpaint: Army Painter Tutorial
Many people think painting white is hard, but that doesn’t have to be the case with Speedpaint; let’s see how to do it!
Step 1:
They start off by spraying the model Matt White. They then basecoat the whole thing with Holy White. Just be sure to do this in a top-down fashion to help it work into the recesses. Next up, he takes a big drybrush and Matt White and drybrushes all the raised areas of the armor. Once done, you’ve pretty much got the armor done!
Step 2:
Now it’s time to pick out the details. He begins by blocking the eyes, weapons, and the areas of the armor with Grim Black. For the unit leader, he paints the shoulder pad with Zealot Yellow. For the bases (which he pre-textured), he paints them all over with Sand Golem. To reinforce the desert theme, he drybrushes them with Arid Earth.
Step 3:
To finish off the models, he takes some tufts from their range and puts them on the bases where it makes the most sense (and paints the rims, whatever color you like)!
Finished Models
There you have it, a super fast and great-looking way to get your minis on the tabletop! They also have a graphic at the end that shows some colors you can replace for different looks.
