Throne of Skulls 40k Warhammer World Event

Warhammer Tournaments Winter 2023 2

The Warhammer World team are always coming up with new ideas for their events, and for December they’ve made a revisions to the Throne of Skulls format. These are casual matched play events, designed to reward enthusiastic gamers with great looking armies who display a healthy helping of sportsmanship.

From now on, each event will have a special rule to differentiate them from more competitive matched play events. First up is the Rule of One, which debuts at the Warhammer 40,000 Throne of Skulls event in December. With this rule in effect, players can only pick one of each datasheet when building their armies – not the usual three.

If you want to play a more relaxed tournament, then this is for you. It rewards more for the hobby and sportsmanship.

Then there’s the streamlined Blitzing Sevens Cup, which takes place at Bugman’s. This slimline version of Blood Bowl is no less lethal, but ensures that four games and a painting competition can be as neatly tucked into a day as a ball carrier into a solid box formation.

7’s is a really fun way to go play the game, and since this is a one-day tournament, you might as well break out the minis and go!
