We needed to know the cost of that colossal one-gallon paint pot from when Games Workshop reviewed those huge new models with Weta.
We all love painting minis (well, maybe not love, but we do it), but how much would a whole gallon of Games Workshop Citadel paint actually cost you?
We’ll look at that today, but let’s just say that if you want a gallon of GW paint, you better love painting one color repeatedly! Or, who knows, maybe you could paint your hobby room with it instead and get truly inspired.
If the models from Weta come unpainted, you might need this much paint for a 15″ tall model that we previously called miniature!
Uncovering the True Cost of GW’s One-Gallon Paint Pot
The image comes from GW’s announcement with Weta, where they will be releasing 1/6 scale models (meaning they could be 15″ tall). This had us wondering about what that (probably fictional) colossal bucket of paint would actually cost.
Normally, with Macragge Blue, you get 12ml for $4.55, meaning you would need 315 and a half pots of paint to actually fill a gallon! This is already a crazy number, but you have to take it a step further and multiply 315.45 by the cost of the paint itself!
So, the total cost of one gallon of GW paint at this rate is $1,435.29!
Obviously, this is all just a little fun, but it is pretty insane to see how much that giant paint pot would actually cost you! While we would hope you would get some discount for buying in bulk (and fewer pot plastic), we can’t be certain that you wouldn’t have to pay upwards of $1,000!
You may have to look for something different to paint your hobby room with at that price. However, if you ever win the lottery, there might be signs, as they say…
What do you think about the actual cost of a One-Gallon Games Workshop Citadel Paint Pot?
