Ave Dominus Nox: the Night Lords are rising again inside a new 40k Kill Team box with a big upgrade sprue!
This is what Warhammer TV and Warhammer Community had to say about the new Kill Team upgrade sprue and the rumors for the other side of the box. The Night Lords will receive a new upgrade sprue, while the Mandrakes will have a completely new kit. This could lead to a range refresh for the Drukhari in the near future!
The Night Lords Rise in a New 40k Kill Team Box!
The kit itself uses the phenomenal Chaos Space Marines as a base and adds an extra-large upgrade sprue full of macabre tchotchkes, from draped skins and trophies to winged helmets and flensing blades.
The Night Lords haven’t received much love from GW recently, so it’s nice to see them get an upgrade sprue to show off their true colors!
You’ll also find new wargear for building unique Nemesis Claws operatives – like the Ventrilokar icon bearer, who carries a sorcerous totem built from the ruined corpse of a murdered Space Marine. His puppet’s corrupted omophagea can mimic the voices of anyone whose flesh it consumes – a truly unnerving party trick.
It seems like we’ll actually get some new 40k rules this time around, which is nice! However, this is only one side of the box, and the rumors did say Night Lords, guess what else may be on the way too…
RUMORS: New 40k Kill Team Box Will Feature Night Lords Vs Mandrakes!
The new 40k Night Lords and Mandrakes Kill Team rumors come from Valrak via Bolter and Chainsword.
First, these are rumors, so take them with as much salt as you need; however, he was spot on with the last box, which bodes well for this one. It looks like this box will follow the older style of 40k Kill Team boxes with one brand-new unit and one upgrade kit. This time, the Night Lords are confirmed to get the upgrade sprue, so there’s still hope for Mandrakes!
The Mandrakes will be a completely new kit, and they really need it! While the existing Mandrake unit looks great, it is still in Finecast and is super hard to get (not even on GW’s US site at the time of writing this.)
Most people seem to be currently looking for ways to proxy their Mandrakes, so this is a much-needed change. Let’s just hope you can actually get these ones, and they aren’t paywalled for months.
Since we are wishlisting here, could this also be the start of a more extensive range refresh for the Drukhari, as some of the models are quite old, and maybe a new character (come on, just give us Vect)!
