Fuegan, Phoenix Lord of the Fire Dragons, returns armed with Searsong and a fiery fate, as GW confirms the leaks with a stunning new model!
A New Fuegan Model Returns: GW Confirms The Phoenix Lord’s Fiery Role For the Aeldari
The legend of Fuegan, Phoenix Lord of the Fire Dragons, just got a massive glow-up, literally and figuratively (and an early reveal, possibly due to the leaked images of Fuegan on the internet). After lurking in the shadows (and some seriously mysterious Webway paths), Fuegan has blasted back into the Aeldari spotlight, and it’s clear he’s been on a serious mission.
Now wielding his iconic Fire Axe and the unique firepike Searsong, Fuegan is ready to burn down anything that dares cross the Aeldari.
For both new and long-time Warhammer players, Fuegan’s return stirs up the age-old question: where has this guy been, and why is he always so cryptic? It’s easy to imagine him as that one elusive friend who shows up when the party’s on fire—literally, in his case—and then disappears just as suddenly.
Fuegan’s recent stints include joining the Ynnari against the Thousand Sons, hacking through daemons in the Webway, and then vanishing once again, only to pop back up at the scent of new battles in realspace. Fuegan’s got a thing for making an entrance, and it’s worth every second of anticipation.
Fuegan: Prodigal Hunter of the Webway
For those not well-versed in Aeldari lore, the Webway is an ancient, alternate dimension built by the Old Ones. This cosmic transit system, older than most known galactic histories, is like a legendary subway where every station has a nasty surprise or dark twist waiting for unsuspecting travelers. Fuegan knows the ins and outs of these passages, and he knows his way around a Fire Dragon shrine.
Fuegan’s been making his way through these winding paths for longer than most Aeldari can remember, tracking down any daemon gutsy enough to slink through.
But Fuegan’s not just wandering aimlessly. Fuegan’s one of the last truly determined guardians of the Webway, protecting it not out of duty but a personal vendetta against anything remotely Chaos-flavored. And since the Webway is infamous for twisting even the bravest of souls, Fuegan’s resilience stands as a testament to his near-obsessive dedication. No matter how rough it gets, Fuegan’s spirit is forged in fire—and he’s got the flames to back it up.
The Leaked Model
Games Workshop acted quickly on this one; the model had been leaked for just about a day, and then GW dropped their official reveal! However, the leak gave us the instructions and even the weaponry to expect in the upcoming codex.
The model’s design seems to reflect Fuegan’s mastery of melta weapons, a deadly tool against enemy vehicles. With new abilities and rules likely to follow, the leak points to Fuegan becoming a significant threat in upcoming games, particularly for armies relying on armor.
What Does the New Fuegan Model Mean for Future Aeldari Releases?
Considering Fuegan was leaked and then possibly revealed early, we’re not sure if GW will change up their release schedule. However, the latest updates in Warhammer 40k bring us everything from the stoic resilience of the Astra Militarum to the elegant menace of the Aeldari, all topped off with some tantalizing whispers of Chaos.
Eldar will be getting Aspect Warrior miniatures with new sculpts to “round out the line” in early 2025 (and what we assume will be a new codex book as well.) With new units and updates on the horizon, they’re ready to strike fear—or at least mild concern—into the hearts of their enemies. Spoiler alert: GW said, “What’s next? It starts with swooping and ends with the Hawks, for starters.”
So, did Fuegan jump the line, and now will the Fire Dragons follow? From the looks of it, some or all of this rumor will come true, and judging by Games Workshop’s coy text, we will see, at the very least, new Swooping Hawks for sure, and now, definitely Fire Dragons!
New Plastic Aeldari Aspect Warriors Kit Rumors & Release Dates
Unfortunately, the Dire Avengers kit is only about 20 years old, so according to these, they won’t be getting any new models. However, there are tons of new kits to look forward to! Next up, supposedly, GW is aiming to get the rest of the Aspect Warriors’ new model kits (and now we basically have to get Fire Dragons).
Swooping Hawks may be next up with a new Kill Team, just like the Striking Scorpions got (supposedly, GW forgot to make Karandras, but he will get a new model). This is rumored to be before the 10th Edition codex release, with Baharroth coming once the Swooping Hawks release on their own or with the codex, according to this.
Next up will be Fire Dragons with Fuegan. Given that this said late 2024/25, we expect them to drop with the codex and not some separate release. Both the Fire Dragons and Fuegan are super old models, so it only makes sense they get the new plastic model treatment!
Obviously, GW changes its release dates pretty regularly, but for the 10th edition, they have stayed super close to the roadmap, so when they finally show the codex on there, expect the fire dragons not far behind, supposedly… Check out the full release rumors for Aeldari here!
A Vision of Things to Come: Fuegan’s Role in the Rhana Dandra
The Rhana Dandra, also known as the Aeldari apocalypse, is the grand cosmic event foretold in Aeldari prophecy. Fuegan isn’t just any Phoenix Lord; he’s the one fated to gather all the others for this final showdown with Chaos. Imagine a scene where every Phoenix Lord who’s ever waged war comes together in one last, glorious charge led by Fuegan himself. Fuegan will stand as the last of them, his soul and those of his kin merging to birth Ynnead, the Aeldari god of death. Talk about drama!
While Fuegan has been known to be cagey about when, exactly, this apocalyptic battle will go down, it’s clear he’s working toward this destiny with every daemon he reduces to ash. Fuegan’s prophecy isn’t one of light-hearted heroism but of grim determination, where every flame he fans is one step closer to an event that will reshape the galaxy itself. The end may be murky, but Fuegan’s purpose is as clear as his fiery path through the Webway.
