GW’s latest Warhammer 40k rumor engine preview looks like a grapple gun, could it be a special forces Votann or something random?
Here’s the latest Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. As usual, there are some interesting possibilities for what it could be! Whatever the case, we can’t wait to see what Games Workshop has in store when it’s finally revealed. Let’s take a look and try to guess until then!
Rumor Engine: February 25th, 2025
As a fun sidenote, Warhammer Community’s writers had some fun with this one:
“If you’ve ever seen those terrifying machines that shred the inside of a coconut, you’ll know exactly what this is – another tool in the arsenal of Warhammer’s premier culinarians.”
While their quotes on Rumor Engines usually don’t mean much, this is a fun little snippet that could potentially be a wild, off-the-wall hint! Who knows?
The newest rumor engine looks like a stockier, grapple gun, or maybe a super brutal torpedo-style slug launcher. In any case, an elite unit is most likely making Votann, or Space Marines, but don’t be surprised if a specialist model sneaks this bit in!
Looking at the Reiver gun, we can see it is very similar, basically confirming that’s what it is. We expect a new character or elite holding a gun very similar to the Reiver’s kit.
Final Thoughts:
While the Votann is less likely due to the gun parallels, they do have many special forces-style units, making another not surprising at all. Still, though… who knows? Curve balls happen, and specialist games usually get some super unique models. We will have to wait and see!
