Could the new Canoness Karen be getting a touch-up like Uriel did because apparently, hobbyists hate her sculpt.
To be fair there were a few people who actually liked this mini, but from the looks of it the majority of people did not (and no not because she’s a “female” either). The main issue everyone seems to have is the face sculpt (not to mention that spidery left hand).
All of this seems to mirror the same feedback from Uriel Ventris, who also received a ton of backlash as well online and was promptly (and without any acknowledgment on GW’s part) resculpted when he hit store shelves.
With this model still a way out, there is a chance Games Workshop could do the very same thing for the model that’s been dubbed “Cannoness Karen”?

We’re not trying to be mean, but when you look at the face sculpt, the pose, and left hand, this just isn’t really up to their usual standard. It looks more like one of the old metal minis from many editions ago. It has a very static pose, which isn’t always bad, but when you combine it with the other issues, this just doesn’t hold up. Especially when you compare it to the sick minis previewed for the Sisters already.

It did have a helmeted option, which obviously looks better, but we’re not worried about how GW can sculpt a helmet! Even with the helmet though, the mini still is very underwhelming. There’s something about the face and overall sculpt that just doesn’t give you hobby feel-goodsies.
Let’s look at how GW resculpted Uriel and if we could see another change with this model too.
The Uriel Change
We’ll let you decide which is better, but it’s pretty obvious that there were some serious changes. The overall shape of the head, the robotic pieces running from his neck, the mouth, the hair, and the eyes all seemed to have changed. It has a somewhat similar look, but a lot better. It’s a little curious GW didn’t even say anything and just released a new pic. We assume it was from all the negative feedback received on social media because there was a lot of it!
With this new Dogmata mini getting a similar type of hobby hate, we hope they do the same. Especially with the model’s release still a little ways off, it’s possible! It would be very interesting if GW did though.
Because that means they would be more than willing to preview a model and then change it if there is too much dislike for it out there. We all know GW loves to sell minis, and great-looking ones always sell better!
