It’s raining new Warhammer 40k! We’re one book down in Psychic Awakening and have lots more rules and rumors to go. Here’s the latest!
As part of the latest roundup of what could be next, keep in mind that these are all just educated guesses based on our gut and rumors. We’ve heard rumors and seen some crafty tricks to pick out some clues from Warhammer Community’s site as of late.
However, there’s not been any official word from GW…yet.
We know book one was Phoenix Rising, but what about the next three books for Psychic Awakening? It looks like Sablednah may have cracked the code. Check out the latest from his site:
40k’s Next 3 Psychic Awakening Rulebooks?
Earlier on, Sablednah managed to dig deep into the Warhammer Community site and pulled out some pretty exciting finds.
Using the HTML code, the map would zoom in on certain sectors of the galaxy. Looking at which faction’s homeworlds were closeby, here’s what we could be seeing soon.
Things To Keep in Mind
- GW has already said that every faction would have a stake in the Psychic Awakening expansion.
- The pattern could be a new character/book for every faction involved
- We may see old character models get updated
- This entire event could run the course of a few years as that’s how long it took for each faction to get their first codex (since 2017).
- The order of events/factions to get support looks unclear.
Coming from An Actual Englishmen on Dakka Dakka in short, this looks to be the rumored release schedule of everything in the coming months:
- Volume 1: October 2019 Asuryani vs. Drukhari (Seen)
- Volume 2: end of November Chaos vs. Black Templars
- Volume 3: before 2020 Blood Angels vs. Tyranids
- Volume 4: eventually… Space Wolves vs Ork
With volumes 2, 3 and 4 mentioned, it’s time to break down the rumors that spilled the details of the future releases. Remember take everything with a pinch of salt!
Psychic Awakening Book #2 – Terra-ish?
Recently Sablednah found that the Sisters of Battle icon was next in line, which along with the Iron Warriors, Word Bearers, Night Lords, Emperor’s Children, World Eaters, White Scars, and Black Templars were spotted in the October 20th preview:

This area of the map was zoomed in on using the code on the page for event #2.
Compare the map above that was labeled Terra and Mars with the map that showed
It only makes sense that Terra and Mars would be the focus of some kind of conflict. But it might be on their homeworlds vs. them sending forces to another part of the galaxy. That being said, Terra is one of the most fortified places in Imperium. In theory, nobody from the outside with a massive army should just make planetfall.
It would make sense that the Sisters of Battle would be next as it could pair up nicely with their new release in the coming month(s)
Factions we could be seeing in Book 2 based on GW’s teaser images:
- Sisters of Battle (highly likely)
- Night Lords
- Emperor’s Children
- World Eaters
- Word Bearers
- Iron Warriors
- White Scars
- Black Templars
We had heard rumors of a Black Templars starter box that may be on the way recently. Now that they are “in play” from these new previews could Psychic Awakening II also have an accompanying starter box like the Blood of the Phoenix? It looks like the only box set for this release may be a new Chaos Sorceror and the Sisters of Battle Army Box according to the recent release sheet leak.
Coming from @wagamingdave, it looks like some sort of pricing has been revealed for what’s ahead. Just as much as the products themselves are rumors, so are the prices. However, going off of what some of the more recent GW releases have been, these price points may be surprisingly accurate.

New Psychic Awakening “Faith & Fury”
Back to Kikasstou on B&C, he gave some possible (very) good insight on what’s ahead:
- Black Templars and Chaos would be the main two factions in Volume 2.
- Librarians, Chaplains, and Techmarines will have the leveling system introduced. (Level 2 Chaplains know one extra litany, for example).
- Level 2 Techmarines will head flat 3 instead of D3 when they repair.
- Making a character a level 2 unit will come in the form of a 1CP Stratagem.
- All Space Marine Chapters will have access to upgrading characters to level 2.
- Black Templars can’t use any Imperial Fist supplement rules; Psychic Awakening vol. 2 will be their “supplement”.
- Sadly, there won’t be any new Black Templar Primaris models for Helbrecht, Grimaldus, or the Emperor’s Champion.
- The possibilities are open for a new Chaos Sorcerer.
- Imperial Guard and Sisters of Battle will also be present. However, would not be the main focus.
So while we’re still waiting on the rumors to be debunked or confirmed, what would you like to see come inside of “Faith & Fury” However, we are still waiting for an official word from GW.
Event #3- Baal & The Ultima Segmentum
Reaching beyond event two, when he plugged a “3” in on the side, it zoomed over near Baal. If the Blood Angel symbol is revealed after the Sororitas logo, we can pretty much assume that the data mapping that was done was all correct.
Here, we could also make the case for Daemons having some kind of hand in this event as well. After the Devastation of Baal with Tyranid skulls being stacked in an ode to Ka’Bhanda, new Daemon rules could emerge with the Blood Angels.
However, the Necron Mephret Dynasty is right next door to Baal. Meaning that there could be some Necron involvement as well. Finally, if Tyranids almost cleaned out Baal entirely in one go, who’s to say they couldn’t still be lurking around…
Baal is on the outer reaches of planets for the Adeptus Astartes and could easily attract another Hive Fleet. Orks are also on the table as one could easily appear in a big space rok for a krumpin’.
While Chaos could be involved, Renegade Marines probably will be one of the last factions to get touched as they just got their Codex 2.0 treatment. With that said, they will definitely be getting some kind of support within the Psychic Awakening expansion, but our money is on way later down the line.
This could be the most likely spot for Tau to engage the Imperium once again as well. As Baal is, like we said, on the outer rim of worlds and positioned closer to the east, Tau might try to get froggy.
We could see new rules for
- Blood Angels (Maybe a new Mehpy model)?
- Daemons
- Necrons
- Tyranids
- Orks
- possibly Chaos but it may be one of the later books
- Tau
Psychic Awakening 3 & Mephiston Pricing
Rumor even has it that we’ll be seeing a new Mephiston model around the time of this book’s release.
Coming from @wagamingdave, it looks like some sort of pricing has been revealed for what’s ahead. Just as much as the products themselves are rumors, so are the prices. However, going off of what some of the more recent GW releases have been, these price points may be surprisingly accurate.
Some heavy hitters in this list are the Battleforces, possibly a new Mephiston (following the usual Primaris Named Character pricing of $40), and Chapter Approved/ Psychic Awakening: Blood of Baal.
Event #4- Astartes Planets
This area of the map was zoomed in on when a “4” was plugged on the site.
Finally, Prospero, The Rock, and Fenris are all neighbors currently next to each other with a few spattering of Guard planets nearby like Catachan, Ryza, and Armageddon. We already know that Space Wolves and Thousand Sons have especially bad blood with each other. The Dark Angels are also standing right in the middle of the two. We could be seeing books for:
- Space Wolves
- Dark Angels
- Thousand Sons
- Imperial Guard
- If the Admech doesn’t have involvement with Terra on what we talked about above, they could even show up here.
What About the Other Factions?
You might have noticed that there were a few factions that were left out. Death Guard and Grey Knights are just to name a few. While there’s no clear spot for them to pop up (other than their homeworlds) we could still easily see them be a part of an assault. They could take the fight to Prospero and Death Guard could easily beat up on a lone planet or system. They even could show in Baal to aid them against another Daemonic incursion as well.
There are still plenty of questions out there and any guess is just as good as another.
