What’s next for Age of Sigmar? New rumors are here that might surprise you, as a blast from the past could be coming back full force!
A handful of rumors were spotted coming from Faeit 212 whose “anonymous sources” have some credible rumors. Apparently, these sources were right about the Warhammer Apocalypse game that was first previewed at Adepticon 2019. So what are the rumors exactly?
Remember to take these with a pinch of salt. These are 100% Rumors.
Empire Returning to Age of Sigmar?
Starting off, here are the rumors:
- AoS is going to be getting constant updates thrown in all throughout 2019.
- All existing AoS factions will be getting their Battletomes this year.
- Free Peoples will be getting a massive overhaul sometime soon (we’re not sure how soon).
So we know that the only REAL human race in AoS at this point are the Stormcast Eternals and you could even argue that they aren’t actually human. Free Peoples models still exist and they do have rules, however, they aren’t even on the same wavelength in terms of support like other factions. It smells like a Free Peoples Battletome is cooking!
As for the rest of the rumors, these all seem to go hand in hand. Of course, if every existing faction got their Battletome, that would also make sense to see a steady stream of updates/FAQs that follow.
Where Do We Go From Here?
The only thing we can do from here is to wait and see. While 40k is still massively popular over Age of Sigmar, Games Workshop has definitely been putting a lot of time and energy into the fantasy game. (It seems like we’re seeing a faction get a new book every month). We could be seeing legitimate humans make a splash back into the game very soon. If they did actually come back in at full force, that would also be a perfect window for GW to create even more lore advancement as well!
But keep in mind also Sylvaneth, Beastclaws, and Ironjaws have yet to see their AoS 2.0 update battletomes as well. So far no “new” races have been previewed for AoS, as the last two FOUR battletomes have all been updates to existing factions.
