Look out, there may be a new Chaos God now in AoS. What this could mean for the pantheon of Nurgle, Tzeentch, Slaanesh, Khorne, and the Great Horned Rat?
Posted on Facebook, it looks like a page of the new Gotrek script book, Realmslayer, was spotted. In that page, there is a hint at what could be a major AoS lore advancement.
Did AoS Add Another Chaos God To The List?
Before we jump in, we know Gotrek is getting his model for AoS and also release is his new audio drama called Realmslayer. That being said, this image looks to be out of a page of the new script book that accompanied the audio:
These incredible stories will be accompanied by a script book for Realmslayer and the first new iteration of Gotrek as a model for thirteen years.
You can see a fainted text of a print on the back of the page. It looks to read “REALMSLAYER”. Now looking at the very first line, Malerion. Once and Aelf (also known as Malekith), is now an ancient and cruel Chaos God.
So Who Was Malekith?
In short, Malekith was an ancient Dark Aelf who ruled Naggaroth (with Morathi). He was nicknamed the Witch King if that rings any bells. Now it looks like Games Workshop has painted him as a Chaos god for AoS
So Where is He Now?
According to the lore, Malerion (used to be Malekith) is now a shadowy entity that awoke in the realm of Ulgu. He traveled the land and found Morathi who used to be his significant other before the End Times struck. Malerion eventually ended up helping Sigmar build up his territory and operated as a God for Order. While this was all happening, he began to hear the aching cries of souls getting eaten by Slaanesh.
He abandoned his post and began to search for Slaanesh and the souls that were being tormented. Not much was spoken about Malerion until the new Realmslayer book, but he did supposedly help Teclis and Tyrion (along with Morathi) free the Elves trapped by Slaanesh starting with the Deepkin.
With the rehashing of his name, it sounds like he’s definitely on the table as a possible character to appear more often in the lore. He was actually able to defeat Archaon in a battle once before and considering that Nagash lost to Archaon, that alone should serve as a testament to how powerful Malerion is.
With all this being said, it’s totally up in the air if we would ever even see this guy hit the tabletop with another faction of Elves for Age of Sigmar.
What will this mean for the other Chaos Gods in AoS? (Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch, Slaanesh, and the Great Horned Rat). Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group, and sign up to get your free hobby updates newsletter (with discount coupon codes) each morning as well!
