By Travis Pasch | July 5th, 2021 | Categories: Age of Sigmar

Dominion box feature rThe Age of Sigmar 3.0 Dominion box is here, check out Rob’s unboxing and build of the new starter!

We’re back unboxing the new set for AoS! Rob sees what it takes to get the minis inside ready for the tabletop, shows the size of the models, and tells you the GOTCHAS to be aware of when building them! Plus, what he thinks about the box overall and whether it passes or fails.

We are going to show you everything including the sprues, bits, and of course, the size. That way you can decide if this is worth your hard-earned hobby dollars.

Get Yours For Less From Amazon or Dicehead Games!

dominion book & boxThe box went for $199 this time around and was promised as the Indomitus for AoS, but does it live up to the hype? Well, there’s definitely a lot of value in the set, if you want to see everything included, go check it out here. Let’s see what’s inside!

Swag dominionYou get a ton of swag inside like the fluff, rulebook, artwork, warscroll cards, some sleeves, and more!

Instructions

Dominion box instructionsThey tell you all the sprue layouts to start, and then break everything down. There’s a ton of minis inside, so the instructions are almost a little imposing! Like with all the recent instructions, everything is color-coated with the different poses broken down. Most of everything inside is push-fit, so nothing should be too hard.

Dominion box instructions 2There are some extra head options, but the boss miniatures are really the only ones with different poses.

Dominion box instructions 3Some of the Kruleboyz stuff has more pieces than Rob anticipated, like the grot in a pot. Still, nothing looks too hard from the get-go.

Dominion box warscrollsLastly here, you get a warscroll card for everything inside which is just really cool and helps play run smoother.

Allocations

dominion-allocationsWe talked about the allocations pretty in-depth here, but just know, at the last second GW basically cut all the allocations into two shipments. Thus trying to drive more people to their site instead of going to their local stores, feels bad for local game stores.

Sprues

Dominion box spruesOverall, every sprue looks pretty awesome! They also broke these down in such a way that, when they become available to order separately, they will more or less come exactly as they did here. Just maybe not ETB.

Dominion box sprues 3For some of the units, they even come on multiple sprues, meaning it would be easy for GW to just take them and throw them in their own boxes later on.

Built Stormcast

Dominion box built minis 2Yndrasta is just a great design overall, and really pretty easy to build. There are a crazy amount of little bits, but is an incredible mini and pretty fun to build. You can also see, when compared to the new Annihilators, she is quite the striking figure, but the Annihilators are nothing to sneeze at either! The gaps on Rob’s look a little exaggerated, but that’s because he did this all purely push-fit without any glue and did them all pretty quickly.

Dominion box built minis 5Even though these are push-fit, they really made each one super detailed, and even building the banner was super easy. Overall, all the new Stormcast stuff is just amazing!

Built Kruleboyz

Dominion box built minis 6The Killaboss has so much detail on it and is just a crazy mini! It’s on a 105 mm oval and is just huge, this will be quite the fun painting challenge!

Dominion box built minis 7When compared with Yndrasta, well, he’s about the same height but so much chonkier!

Dominion box built minis 8

Dominion box built minis 9The Killaboss on foot is also quite awesome and is one of the few minis on that side that has multiple options. Of course, we couldn’t forget about Stabby Grot!

Dominion box built minis 10 Just like with the Stormcast, there is some gapping, but even the big standard went together without any glue!

Dominion box built minis 11

Dominion box built minis 12Even the troops look amazing and are just jampacked with detail. The size difference between them is also something to behold, should make for a very cool and dynamic army!

Final Thoughts

dominion minisOverall, Rob thinks there is a lot of value in this box. Just remember to vote with your hobby dollars and try to pick this up from your local store when you can.
