AoS don’t miss these! The new Dominion of Sigmar warscroll rules were just spotted for all the sets of terrain that are hitting stores this week.
Coming from Games Workshop, we’ve got the datasheets on some combinations of the Dominion of Sigmar. So who cares about the combinations? Well, they all have different in-game rules and abilities that might fit your army’s playstyle a bit better. Take a look at the latest on what’s been spotted with us.

Enduring Stormvault
Looking at the Enduring Stormvault first, which we saw previewed from GW a while back:
The vault is going to come locked and the only one who can open it is a Hero within 1″ of the terrain. Just don’t roll a 1 and hope for a 6! When you unlock it, you’ll get a random effect generated by rolling a D3 on the table. Keep in mind that you can only unlock the vault once and that effect stays with you for the rest of the battle. While it’s no guarantee that you’ll ever unlock the vault in your game, the benefits of doing it are pretty great.
You can increase your Heroe’s damage, let him gain the ability to cast Arcane Bolt or another kind of spell, and the big Kahuna of the list, you can even place an endless spell on the table for free. Imagine plopping down the Purple Sun of Shyish next to a bundle of Beastclaw Raider Stonehorns that have been bullying you all game. That can turn the tide of battle pretty darn quick.
Hallowed Stormthrone
Going over the Stormthrone, this thing is a bastion for your Order forces. If you aren’t Order, you’ll be -1 to your Bravery by standing up next to it. However, whether you’re Order, Chaos, Destruction, or Death, anybody standing on the terrain piece gets to ignore the effects of spells on a 6+. So if you’re trying to protect your Orruks from a Tzeentch Mortal Wound frenzy, you can always set them up in here and at least have a chance of shrugging off the effects of a spell.
Sigmarite Dais
This thing looks like it’s just the Hallowed Stormthrone LITE. While it gives a +1/-1 bravery, it doesn’t have any interaction with spells. This is probably going to be a single-level terrain piece that you’ll want to place near where all the fighting is going to happen. Just to heap on another -1 to bravery for your enemy when you guys do get into melee range.
Shattered Temple
The Shattered Temple is a risk/reward type of terrain. While anything that comes close could take D3 mortal wounds, it’s fairly unlikely. But if you’re a Wizard, you can add +1 to casting and unbinding. You’ll want to get a few of your Heroes to stand on it for the buff, but don’t get crazy with the cheese wiz and bring all of your units to huddle up around it to protect them.
Timeworn Ruin
The Timeworn Ruins are just a deadly piece of scenery that you can set up in a couple of different ways. While you’re limited with every piece of the unit having to be within 1″ of each other piece, you can still cover a pretty wide footprint of tabletop space. Really, if anyone tries to get by them, they could bump their knee and take D3 mortal wounds.
If these pieces don’t cost anything like all the other faction terrain in AoS, we don’t see why you wouldn’t bring these along. (At least if you’re Order). All in all, however, they really don’t have any “busted” effects that would make us believe that we’ll be seeing two of every terrain piece from both players on the table.
What terrain piece will you be playing with on the table? How does it synergize with your army? What’s your army’s biggest weakness? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
