Thinking about getting the Age of Sigmar Daughters of Khaine Battleforce box? We’ll tell you how to bring it up to 2000 points!
As they worship the god of Murder Khaine and tend to stab first, bathe in blood second, and then ask questions… we are guessing the Daughters of Khaine are going to end up on Santa’s naughty list.
However, there is no start collecting box for this army, so if you want to start collecting them this is a great way to get started.
The army I’m going to list is the cheapest way to get to 2000, not necessarily the best. The best one uses a lot of Witch Aelves which cost $60 for 10.
First, let’s see what you get in the box and break it down by points, starting with getting to your first 1000.
- Slaughter Queen on Cauldron of Blood: 330 Points (Leader 1 of 4, Behemoth 1 of 2)
- Bloodwrack Medusa: 140 Points (Leader 2 of 4)
- Hag Queen on Foot: 60 Points (Leader 3 of 4)
- 10 Khinerai Heartrenders: 160 Points (No unit type)
- 5 Blood Sisters: 140 points (No unit type)
- 10 Witch Aelves: 100 points (Battleline 1 of 2 Required)
- Total 930 points
Slaughter Queen on Cauldron of Blood: Move damage table (6 down to 2), 5+ Save, 8 Bravery, 13 Wounds.
Has Torrent of Burning Blood Attack: Range 10”, 6 Attacks, Hitting and Wounding on a 3+, with -1 Rend, for 1 Damage. Then a sword attack: Range 2”, 4 Attacks, Hitting and Wounding on a 3+, with -2 Rend, for 3 Damage. (Note these two attacks do not happen unless you use a Wrath of Khaine prayer on this unit).
Then has Witch Aelves Knives: Range 1”, damage table Attack (8 down to 4), Hitting on a 3+, Wounding on a 4+, for 1 Damage. Then a blade of Khaine: Range 1”, 4 Attacks, 3+ to Hit, 4+ to Wound, with -1 Rend for 1 Damage.
Finally, she has a Deathsword: Range 1”, 3 Attacks, Hitting and Wounding on a 3+, with -1 Rend, for D3 Damage. It has a bloodshield that has damage table range (18” down to 2”) that adds 1 to saving throws for friendly Daughters of Khaine.
Then they have bladed impact which on a successful charge this unit deals D3 mortal wound on a 2+. They also add 1 to the bravery of all Daughters of Khaine units within 7, and this unit can use prayers on a 3+.
The first prayer changes her blades damage from 1 to D3, the second one is one where you pick a unit within 3 inches and hide a dice in one hand if your opponent chooses the hand with the dice they take D3 mortal wounds, and the third animates the Avatar of Khaine. Finally, in your hero phase, she can pick a friendly Daughters of Khaine unit within 14” inches and they can pile in and attack as if it were the hero phase.
Bloodwrack Medusa: Move 8”, 5+ Save, 8 Bravery, 6 Wounds
Has a missile weapon the bloodwrack stare” Range 10”, you roll a dice for each model in that unit an on a 5+ it suffers a mortal wound. Then it has 3 melee weapons the first being tail of serpents: Range 2”, D6 Attacks, Hitting and Wounding on a 4+, for 1 Damage.
Next is Whisperclaw” Range 1”, 4 Attacks, Hitting on a 3+, Wounding on a 3+, for 1 Damage. Then a Spear: Range 2”, 2 Attacks, Hitting and Wounding on a 3+, with -1 Rend, for D3 Damage. Finally, this model is a wizard and knows the Enfeebling Foe spell as its unique spell: Casting Value 5, Range “18”, target enemy unit subtracts 1 from wound rolls in the combat phase.
Hag Queen: Move 6”, Save 5+, 8 Bravery, 5 Wounds.
Has a Blade of Khaine: Range 1”, 4 Attacks, 3+ to Hit, 4+ to Wound, with -1 Rend for 1 Damage. She can use one of two players (3 if you include an Avatar of Khaine) where they are successful on a 3+. The first is one that changes her blades damage from 1 to D3 and the other one is one where you pick a unit within 3 inches and hide a dice in one hand if your opponent chooses the hand with the dice they take D3 mortal wounds.
Finally, in your hero phase, she can pick a friendly Daughters of Khaine unit within 3 inches and they can re-roll all failed wound rolls and is immune to battle shock tests.
Khinerai Heartrenders: Move 14”, 6+ Save, 7 Bravery, 1 Wounds
They have a missile weapon the Javelin: Range 12”, 1 Attack, Hitting and Wounding on a 3+, with -1 Rend, for 1 Damage. Then a melee weapon the Javelin: Range 2”, 1 Attack, Hitting and Wounding on a 4+, with -1 Rend, for 1 Damage. This unit can be set up at the end of any of your movement phases anywhere on the battlefield more than 9” away from enemy models. (Also, when they are set up, they have -2 Rend for that shooting phase.)
This unit can run and shoot in the same turn and after making all of its shooting attacks roll a D6 on a 4+ you can move 6”. In the combat phase they have a save of 5+, and if they roll a 6 to save, they deal a mortal wound back on the attacker. Finally, the leader adds 1 to all their hit rolls.
Blood Sisters: Move 8”, 5+ Save, 8 Bravery, 2 Wounds.
Has two different melee attacks the first is the Glaive: Range 2”, 3 Attacks, Hitting and Wounding on a 3+, with -1 Rend, for 1 Damage. Then Crystal Touch: Range 1”, 1 Attacks, Hitting on a 4+, and if it hits it deals a mortal wound. The leader of this unit adds 1 to its hit rolls.
Witch Aelves: Move 6, Save 6+, 7 Bravery, 1 Wound.
They have a knife attack: Range 1”, 2 Attacks (3 if using paired knives), Hitting on a 3+, Wounding on a 4+, for 1 damage. If they are within 8 inches of any friendly Daughters of Khaine Heroes add 1 to the knife attacks.
Instead of duel wielding knives you can have them use a bucker which gives them a 5+ save and if you make a save roll of 6+ they deal a mortal wound. Finally, the leader is a hag with +1 to hit rolls, the hornblower lets them charge and run in the same turn, and the standard bearer lets them roll 2 dice in the battleshock test and discard the highest.
So right off the bat you need another battleline unit to get you up to 1000 points and be tournament legal and the cheapest one 1 is another 10-person unit of Witch Aelves
- 10 Witch Aelves: 100 Points (Battleline 2 of 2 Required)
- Total 1030
At $60 for 10 they are one of the more expensive battle line troops to buy in terms of cost but with the battleforce coming up over 1000 points is not too bad. (you will need to sit out your hag queen on foot)
Total cost to get to 1000 points ($230)
To keep costs down and to field this army without buying an insane amount of Witch Aelves up front, I suggest you buy another Battleforce box and this time make the Bloodwrack Shrine as your general. This will allow you to use Blood Sisters so that your army will look something like this.
- Slaughter Queen on Cauldron of Blood: 330 Points (Leader 1 of 6, Behemoth 1 of 4)
- Slaughter Queen on Foot: 100 Points (Leader 2 of 6)
- Hag Queen on Foot: 60 Points (Leader 3 of 4)
- Bloodwrack Medusa: 140 Points (Leader 4 of 6)
- Bloodwrack Shrine: 220 Points (Leader 5 of 6, Behemoth 2 of 4)
- Avatar of Khaine: 180 Points (Behemoth 3 of 4)
- 10 Khinerai Heartrenders: 160 Points (No unit type)
- 10 Khinerai Heartrenders: 160 Points (No unit type)
- 10 Witch Aelves: 100 points (Battleline 1 of 2 Required)
- 10 Witch Aelves: 100 points (Battleline 2 of 3 Required)
- 10 Blood Sisters: 280 points (Battleline 3 of 3 Required)
- Total 1830 points ($400)
Bloodwrack Shrine: Move (Damage Table 6” down to 2”), 5+ Save, 8 Bravery, 13 Wounds.
Has a missile weapon the bloodwrack stare” Range 10”, you roll a dice for each model in that unit an on a 5+ it suffers a mortal wound. Then it has 4 melee weapons the first being tail of serpents: Range 2”, D6 Attacks, Hitting and Wounding on a 4+, for 1 Damage.
Next is Whisperclaw” Range 1”, 4 Attacks, Hitting on a 4+, Wounding on a 3+, for 1 Damage. Then a Spear: Range 2”, 2 Attacks, Hitting and Wounding on a 3+, with -1 Rend, for D3 Damage. Finally the Goadstaves: Range 2”, Damage Table Attacks (6 down to 2), Hitting and Wounding on a 3+, for 1 Damage. One a successful charge roll a D6 and on a 2+ the nearest enemy unit suffers D3 mortal wounds.
Then it has an aura of agony which at the start of your hero phase roll a D6 for each enemy unit within 7”. Consult a damage table (2+ up to 5+) and if the roll is equal to or above that number then unit suffers D3 mortal wounds. Finally, this model is a wizard and knows the Enfeebling Foe spell as its unique spell: Casting Value 5, Range “18”, target enemy unit subtracts 1 from wound rolls in the combat phase.
Avatar of Khaine: Move 9”, Save 4+, 10 Bravery, 9 Wounds.
The Avatar of Khaine cannot do anything unless a friendly Daughters of Khaine priest (hag queen or slaughter queen) uses a prayer to animate him. It adds 1 to the bravery of all Daughters of Khaine units within 7 inches.
Slaughter Queen on Foot: Move 6”, 5+ Save, 9 Bravery, 5 Wounds
Then a blade of Khaine: Range 1”, 4 Attacks, 3+ to Hit, 4+ to Wound, with -1 Rend for 1 Damage. Finally, she has a Deathsword: Range 1”, 3 Attacks, Hitting and Wounding on a 3+, with -1 Rend, for D3 Damage. this unit can use prayers on a 3+.
The first prayer changes her blades damage from 1 to D3, the second one is one where you pick a unit within 3 inches and hide a dice in one hand if your opponent chooses the hand with the dice they take D3 mortal wounds, third lets her pile in and attack twice in the combat phase. Finally, in your hero phase, if this model is your general, she can pick a friendly Daughters of Khaine unit within 14” inches and they can pile in and attack as if it were the hero phase.
With your last 170 points, I would recommend buying another 2 boxes of 10 Witch Aelves and making one of those units into a 30-model block. So, your final army will look like this. (One reader pointed out you will have a leftover Avatar of Khaine that you could fit in here as well from leftover build bits.)
- Slaughter Queen on Cauldron of Blood: 330 Points (Leader 1 of 6, Behemoth 1 of 4)
- Slaughter Queen on Foot: 100 Points (Leader 2 of 6)
- Bloodwrack Medusa: 140 Points (Leader 3 of 6)
- Bloodwrack Shrine: 220 Points (Leader 4 of 6, Behemoth 2 of 4)
- Hag Queen on Foot: 60 Points (Leader 5 of 6)
- Avatar of Khaine: 180 Points (Behemoth 3 of 4)
- 10 Khinerai Heartrenders: 160 Points (No unit type)
- 10 Khinerai Heartrenders: 160 Points (No unit type)
- 10 Witch Aelves: 100 points (Battleline 1 of 2 Required)
- 30 Witch Aelves: 270 points (Battleline 2 of 3 Required)
- 10 Blood Sisters: 280 points (Battleline 3 of 3 Required)
- Total 2000 points ($520)
This is not the ideal Daughters of Khaine army, but it is the cheapest one I could come up with using the Christmas battleforce box. Personally, the $60 for a unit of 10 battleline troop kind of turns me off this army, and I would not recommend it to new players. You can, however, turn this into a powerhouse army by taking lots of Witch Aelves and adding Morathi as your general but that is lots of monies. This one gives a decent variety and I think would play decently.
If you interested in the other Christmas bundles personally, I like the Seraphon and the Slaves to Darkness the most for their value which you can read about by clicking below! For a new player, I think they are great ways to get into the hobby and give you a fast start on your first 1000 points.
