With the Gloomspite Gitz getting released, FW updated the rules on their models to make sure they’re up to speed on the table. Check out what changed.
Forge World outright said that the Colossal Squig, the Squig Gobba, and the Troggoth Hag have been updated. Of course, the Warscrolls can be found online through the downloadable Monstrous Arcanum Compendium
So let’s check out what’s changed for the Gitz!
Colossal Squig
The Colossal Squigs are about like the Gallant Knights of 40k. They move a whopping 4D6 at full health and can dish out 8 attacks doing D3 damage a pop (remember wounds spillover). The Colossal Squigs also explode and can make another Squig unit as well as being innately -1 to hit. The real issue with these guys is that they’re big and squishy. All they have is a 5+ save and that random movement could really set you a turn behind if you don’t roll right. However, these guys can be devastating to a frontline unit.
Squig Gobba
The Squig Gobba is the artillery for the Moonclan Grots. It’s a literal Squig chained up that spits other Squigs. We really don’t need to go further than that….but we will. It’s useful because it has a flat six attacks no matter what its health is and can target things out of LOS. In addition, you’ll be +1 to hit if you target a bigger unit. Doing D3 damage a pop and no rend, these guys are good at taking on large-lightly armored units.
Troggoth Hag
The Hag got a few more wounds with her update. She’s still a horrible creature to tackle on the table and can outright bully enemy Wizards into submission. She can do mortal wounds to them in their OWN hero phase with the Spell-Spite rule.
The Troggoth heals that D6 wounds every turn and the Bad Moon Allegiance ability can double the result of whatever you roll. (That’s a max of 12 wounds back for free in a single turn.)
Ultimately, all of these units are solid options for any Gloomspite Gitz army. The Moonclan specialize in Squigs while Troggoths can be played as a standalone force or just sprinkled in here and there.
Regardless, they look to be powerful and ready to take on the other forces of the realm! Let us know what you think about the Gloomspite Gitz and the Forge World models in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
