goobertown 24hour challengeBrent from Goobertown Hobbies recently challenged himself to finish an entire start collecting box in a 24-hour marathon. Can he finish it all in time?

Goobertown Hobbies is a great content creator who has interesting takes on the hobby. Whether it’s a collaboration with other hobby YouTubers or a challenge for himself, he has a broad range of topics he covers. His 24-hour marathon was also part of a fundraiser he donated to Extra Life.

goobertown assemblyIn the beginning, he starts very strong. Prepping all the models out of the box and checking them out, getting the instructions, and of course, beginning assembly. He also quickly sets up greenstuff cobblestone bases before assembling the models so they have enough time to cure.

assembly doneAlmost perfectly halfway, he finishes assembly at the 12-hour mark. He notes that the knights took much more time than anything else and that the warriors went together pretty quickly. All of these models are new and each has unique bits, so you really have to follow the instructions on each of them the first time around.

airbrush doneAs he begins painting he does a unique strategy that’s coming more into the limelight. A pink and white undercoat for yellows gives it a great blend of orange and yellow that looks great! He also uses black to prepare some other details on the minis, like the cloaks and swords. He also mentions that he’s trying out new things and being brave, especially with his airbrush.

Next Level Painting and eBay Miniature Rescues really inspire him to use his airbrush in new brave ways. At this point, his airbrushing is done and he has about 6 hours left on the clock. It did take longer than he hoped, but he is happy with it since he tried out so many new things.

24 hours doneAs he moves through with painting, it looks like he probably could finish to a battle-ready standard. However, he wants to be proud of these minis and actually uses them. The time doesn’t mean everything, but the models do!

As the 24 hours finish, he gets the models to tournament ready standard and takes a good long rest. However he wants to do more, so he comes back and puts MORE time into them!

He works multiple days but lets the timer run while he works just to give us an idea of the total time spent. He took a total of about 36 extra hours to finish the models completely, but they look extremely unique and special now thanks to his dedication!
