Warcry is coming with all sorts of new diverse models and Warbands and each of them play differently. Check out which one fits your playstyle.
Warhammer Community went into deeper detail on how each of the new Warbands will play in the AoS skirmish game. While we haven’t seen all of the official rules/points just yet, we can get a pretty good idea of how each faction will function.
Iron Golems
The Iron Golems come from the Realm of metal and are a Warband of master blacksmiths that supply the forces of Chaos with most of their weaponry. These guys are going to be slow in-game but very tanky.
This Ogor Breacher can dish out a whopping eight wounds on a crit and comes with 30 wounds of his own. He’s a one-man brick wall that can close off areas of the map by himself and pummel lighter fighters.
Untamed Beasts
Untamed beasts are nomadic raiders from the Realm of beasts who believe that Chaos is a primal force bent on destruction. These guys are trying to replace any kind of order with entropy. In-game, these guys are fast but fragile. They are best used in packs of two or three to swarm the enemy.
They have a beast of their own called the Rocktusk Prowler with an ability called unleash the beast. We don’t know the full details on this move but the video said it was deadly. In a faction full of squishy fighters, these guys could be also the most deadly in terms of damage output.
Splintered Fang
The Splintered Fang come from the Realm of life. They are a warrior-Gladiator cult that worship the “Coiling Ones”. In-game, they are focused around paralyzing their enemy with poisonous strikes. This could be immensely useful in an objective-based game forcing enemy fighters to stop in their tracks.
Corvus Cabal
This Warband worships a massive bird of prey called “The Great Gatherer” and presents corpses as war trophies to the entity. In-game, these guys are the most agile. They’ll be able to scale walls and sneak around the map like no other faction in the game.
Cypher Lords
Coming from the Realm of light, the Cypher Lords are the acrobatics of the game. They are able to summersault onto rooftops and flip over enemy fighters in combat. What’s even cooler, their leader, the Thrallmaster, can translocate fighters back to his position in the middle of battle.
Unmade
The Unmade use fear tactics as a part of their fighting. What’s more, is that they mutilate themselves as well as their enemies. Over time they replace their limbs with metal instruments to gore their opponents and worship the dark forces of torment. They’ll have the ability to scare fighters into submission preventing them any kind of movement or disengage action for a moment.
More Warbands Announced
GW also announced that these weren’t all of the Warbands we would be seeing. They plan to keep giving support to the game with the Spire Tyrants and Scions of the Flame factions already mentioned!
