Oh boy. Games Workshop just announced that something for Age of Sigmar is coming back on a square base. What the heck is going on with this?
First spotted on Warhammer: Age of Sigmar’s official Facebook, they gave a very vague description mentioning something about square bases. We just saw the entire AoS miniature line swapped over to round bases so what could be happening next exactly?
What in the World GW: Square Bases Returning to Age of Sigmar?
It’s shocking to see GW mention square bases once they purged their entire AoS miniature line of them. They even made it tournament standard to have rounds. Only months after the dust settles, it looks like they may be going back to square bases in some form. We just don’t know what.
The only Age of Sigmar-themed release we have yet to see is for the Warcry Warbands mentioned out of the first-rumored product release sheets. Beyond something for Warcry, we have no clue what GW could be talking about.
They did say to tune into Warhammer Community at 3PM GMT on Friday (tomorrow) so we won’t have to wait long to get a more clear picture. With this on the table now, what do you think could be coming? Could GW swap minis back over to square bases? Will Warcry be played on Squares from now on? Is GW making a square-based minigame for AoS?
