Easy Subtle Effects for Painting Chaos Night Lords
Once the base colors are applied, brush Vallejo Game Extra Opaque Heavy Warmgrey over the tabard and face mask, giving the start to a flayed skin appearance. Next, apply Vallejo Game Extra Opaque Heavy Red over the armor pieces, blocking in each color.
For the gold trim, use Scale 75 Negro Gold to block in each section. Take your time getting the trim painted up to avoid getting gold where you don’t want it. Scale 75 Negro Gold is a great base for Chaos golds, as it is dark and covers quite well.
Apply Scale 75 Black Metal over all portions where steel would be on the armor. Model Color Black by Vallejo is used over the spots where true black would be, as well as cleaning up any parts of the model desired.
To wash the model, mix Dark Tone and Quickshade Mixing Medium by Army Painter together and brush over the entire model. Once it’s slathered on, use some water and a clean brush to start pulling excess wash away to prevent staining. Once the wash is dry, he is good to go!
