A Valhallan Guard Army We Can’t Forget: Showcase

valhallan talon walFirst seen around the start of 8th edition, it’s time to blow the dust off of this incredible Valhallan collection from Talon! Take a look at the specs!

Imperial Guard has had a pretty lively time as far as 8th edition is considered. Whether people bring a CP battery or flat-out go all-in on firepower, the Imperial Guard is probably the most played Imperial faction (or a close second to Space Marines). But with recent support being given to Imperial Guard in Psychic Awakening: The Greater Good, it’s time to check out one of the coolest Guard armies we’ve ever seen.

A Valhallan Army We Can’t Forget: Army Showcase

valhallan talon 1Talon’s models are rolling in with a very unique off-white paint scheme. Usually, Guard’s most common colors are tan, some kind of green, or some other kind of realistic camo color. But looking at this force, the design is a half-black, half cream color on all the armor. Definitely a dope design you don’t really see a lot of.

valhallan talon 2Stepping back to get a good chunk of this roughly 4500 pt army, a Vulture and two Valkyries are set up to give some intense covering fire for the ground forces as they move up on the tabletop.

valhallan talon 3A 3rd edition Inquisitor is also hiding within the ranks of Leman Russes, custom Tauroxes and Valhallan Guardsmen.

valhallan talon 4Speaking of the Taurox, you can see a better angle of the model. With tires on the front including a roll cage in the back, these really stand out from what’s normally seen on the tables these days.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a true Valhallan army without some OG Valhallan miniatures leading the charge would it? You can see these guys running in the snow with their lasguns and Ushankas ready.

valhallan talon 6This army definitely sticks out from the other Guard armies as it’s full of OG minis and conversions across the board. Way to go flexing your hobby muscles on this one.

If you want to check out even more of the army, be sure to watch the YouTube video showcase below. (Be warned, it’s showing its age a little bit).

What’s your favorite unit to use out of the Imperial Guard codex? Do you run Valhallans as your army of choice in 8th edition?
