An alien life form has infiltrated a bleak and desolate Antarctic research station assimilating other organisms and then imitating them.
In the hidden identity game The Thing Infection at Outpost 31, you will relive John Carpenter’s sci-fi cult classic. Race against the other players to discover who is infected, who is not, and who will escape the horror in the Antarctic. This game puts 4-8 players against each other as one of 12 characters. Investigate the facility, search for clues, supplies, and equipment as well as clear the building to find the culprit and escape!
The game brings in several missions to solve during the explorations, as well as potential sabotages to plant along the way. Each player is either a Human or Imitation. Humans are tasked with solving missions and trying to escape while Imitations are trying to sabotage missions, destroy the outpost, and/or escape. The game board is divided into four sectors, each with a specific item goal, and missions to solve in order to achieve that goal. As the Humans are trying to solve the missions, the Imitations are attempting to play sabotauge cards while maintaining the illusion of being human. Detection, after all, means certain doom and failure for the Imitations. Should missions fail, further missions will be harder to solve.
This game does involve some role play and deception. The sector goals never change, though the missions have an entire deck to go through, so could be different. If you enjoy games of deception, lies, hidden features, and struggles to work together while not trusting your other players, then this is a fantastic game, similar to Werewolf and Battlestar Galactica board games.

Will you be infected? Or will you survive? Trust no one…the infection must not spread beyond this place!
